How to Obtain Exclusive Upgrade Effects

Exclusive Upgrade Requirements

To unlock exclusive upgrades for weapons, you first need to reach Chapter 9. To get exclusive upgrades for your individual weapons, you can either fully upgrade the weapon or trade Spinels for Exclusive Upgrade Tickets.

Reach Chapter 9

Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 9 Merchant

Exclusive Upgrades become available from the Merchant when you reach Chapter 9. If you haven't reached Chapter 9, the number of times you can upgrade a weapon will be limited.

Available Immediately in Professional Difficulty

If you're playing on Professional Difficulty, Exclusive Upgrades are available from the beginning of the game. You can unlock the Professional Difficulty by finishing the main story once.

Once you've fully upgraded your weapon, you'll be able to purchase and unlock its Exclusive Effect. They have high prices so it's recommended to save your money if you're planning to acquire a weapon's Exclusive Effect.

You can trade Spinels for Exclusive Upgrade Tickets from the merchant. The ticket allows you to bypass fully upgrading a weapon in order to gain access to its Exclusive Effect.
