Get 1,000,000 Points

Getting 1,000,000 points in Mercenaries is required to get S++ Rank. This is possible by keeping your kill combo going, and killing all 150 enemies in each stage before running out of time.

Raise the Cannon Early

Raise the Cannon
Since you will be starting on the lower floor, you can immediately run down the stairs to the left and raise the cannon by interacting with the hanging counterweight. Doing this will allow you to be prepared for the Garradors that will spawn later on.

Use the Cannon to Kill Garradors

Use Cannon
Garradors can be difficult to deal with, especially with Hunk who only has an SMG. Use the cannon to kill them when they spawn later on. Interact with the cannon to use it and press R2 / RT to shoot. You can fire up to three cannon shots.
How to Beat Garrador

Destroy Catapults Using the Explosive Barrels

Destroy Barrels
Make sure to shoot all of the explosive barrels to destroy all the catapults. Destroying the catapults makes the area safer to traverse. Note that enemies killed by catapults don't count toward your score.

Use Your Submachine Gun Freely

Do not bother with Hunk's neck-breaker melee, as it only takes up too much time and doesn't work on Garradors. Hunk's time is best used drilling bullets into enemies, and picking up more TMP ammo from the carnage. Your goal here is to kill enemies as fast as possible so that more spawn in to chase you down.

Kick Melee Groups of Enemies

Hunk's most worthwhile melee move is the kick he does after shooting an enemy in the legs. Use this when you see a bunch of enemies grouped together. This kick will knock them all down and is good at crowd control.

Use Mayhem Mode Only When Full

Using Mayhem Mode when it's full up on 2 Bars is more efficient, as you receive a higher score bonus per shot landed, and more seconds of bonus time per enemy killed.

It's always worth activating your Mayhem Mode when elite enemies like Garradors and Cultists appear. Fire at them nonstop to rack up those bonus points.
