TMP is good to have on early to mid chapters of the game before you can get a better SMG which is the LE 5. It has decent damage and a large magazine size, but the accuracy is very low, allowing you to use it only at a close-range distance.
Best SMG
Most weapons will be unlocked once you finish the game. There are a lot of weapons that can overpower the TMP, like the CQBR or LE 5.
If you're set on using this weapon, it's better if you max out its level first for better performance. Consider doing the upgrades, especially if you want to beat higher difficulties like Hardcore or Professional, so you would have a smoother run.
New Game Plus Guide and What Carries Over
TMP has a large magazine size and fast rate of fire which are good to use when fighting multiple enemies at once. You can kill several enemies using the TMP without having to reload from time to time!
Due to TMP's low precision, it's better to use it at short distances to hit enemies more accurately. Just remember to keep a bit of a distance between you and the enemies, as they might grab you if they don't get staggered from the shots.
You can get the TMP by removing all of your items before entering the Village Square gate. Its location won't be accessible if you left even just a single item in your inventory.

A well will open up once you discarded all of your items. You can find it behind the barn in the south side of the village. Drop down the ladder of the well on the right side near the cart. Open the chest inside the tunnel to obtain the Level 3-upgraded TMP.
You can use the other entrance to get above ground again, which will bring you out near the tower.
Follow the path on the right as you enter the village. Then go left and you should see the well near a cart behind the barn. Go down and follow the path until you reach the chest containing the TMP.
If you've obtained the TMP on the demo, it will automatically appear in your inventory in all subsequent new games you start. It will be a good way to play a new save, especially if you want to beat the extreme difficulty Mad Chainsaw Mode of the demo!
