Gavel of Haima Lore

Gavel of Haima Effects

Creates and slams a magical greathammer to the ground creating a shockwave that deals high damage to nearby foes. You can perform a follow-up attack right after the first strike. The follow-up attack will save you time in charging up the spell but will still cost FP.

How to Get Gavel of Haima

Complete Thops' Questline First

To obtain the Gavel of Haima you must first complete Thops' questline. This quest involves giving him the Academy Glintstone Key found inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Giving him the key will have you learn Erudition, a form of Gesture.

Get the Karolos Glintstone Crown

Karolos Glintstone Crown Map Location

The Karolos Glintstone Crown can only be obtained by killing a small white crab with crystals on its back in the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Exit north from the Debate Parlor site of grace and then head westward. The white crab will be hiding in a corner behind the bushes near the cliff.

Unlock the Converted Fringe Tower

After learning the gesture and obtaining the Karolos Glintstone Crown go to the Converted Fringe Tower, in the Liurnia of the Lakes region. Wear the crown and use the Erudition Gesture inside the tower. The seal will disappear the moment the crown glows.

Head to the topmost part of the tower and you should be able to see a chest containing the Gavel of Haima and the Cannon of Haima.

How to Use Gavel of Haima

Use When Mobbed

The shockwave from the impact of this spell can take on surrounding enemies making it effective when dealing with a horde during PvE.

Perform Continous Attacks with Dual Staves

Have two of your armament equipped with staves if you're looking to optimize the damage you deal using Gavel of Haima against opponents. This method will allow you to cast the spell continuously without going through the recovery animation you get from using just one.

This works by alternating between staves, allowing you to chain cast the spell without going through the follow-up attack. This method is effective when you want to deal as much damage as possible to staggered opponents.

Improves Poise

According to the update 1.04 activating the Gavel of Haima can now let the caster withstand enemy attacks. Once the hammer has taken form this spell could not be easily canceled because of the additional Poise the spell gives. Making this spell now ideal to use during PvP combat.

However, you can still take damage from incoming attacks so be mindful of that when using this skill.
