Thops can be found sitting inside a dilapidated Church of Irith when players first unlock Liurnia. To get to this location, players can fast travel to the nearby Lake Facing Cliffs site of grace.

Give Thops 10 Runes to Start Questline

To interact with Thops, answer his plea and give him 10 Runes. This unlocks Thops as a Merchant of a few glintstone sorceries. Additionally, you can find out more about how to enter the Academy by speaking to him.

Give Thops an Extra Glinstone Key

In order to give Thops a chance to return to the Academy of Raya Lucaria, players will need to find him an extra Academy Glintstone Key. Once given, Thops will reward you with the Erudition gesture.

Where to Find Extra Academy Glintstone Key

An extra copy of the Academy Glinstone Key be found on one of the chandeliers in the Church of Cuckoo, inside the academy. Players will have to explore the legacy dungeon to get to this tricky spot on the map.

Where to Find Extra Academy Glintstone Key
1	Start at the Debate Parlor Site of Grace inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria. From there, make your way inside the courtyard. Make your way up the stairs, past the two sorcerers, and jump over the railing to the left.
1.5	You may also enter the door in the courtyard if you have previously unlocked the shortcut.
2	Jump over the railing past the sorcerer and make your way across the rooftops.
3	At the end of the rooftops you will find a ladder. Climb up the ladder.
4	At the top, go straight through the path past the flying enemies and the sorcerer then turn right.
5	Drop down onto the next set of roofs.
6	Keep going down, heading northwest.
7	To the right, there will be a corner with a Marionette Soldier enemy. Head towards it, this is where we want to go.
8	Drop down onto the ledge near the where the Marionette Soldier is positioned and turn right.
9	Jump onto the rooftop of the Church of the Cuckoo. Be wary of the patrolling Marionette Soldiers.
10	Jump into the church through one of the open windows.
11	Jump onto the beams above the chandeliers.
12	Jump onto the chandelier to acquire the Extra Academy Glintstone Key.

Academy of Raya Lucaria Legacy Dungeon Walkthrough and Location

Use Erudition to Unlock the Converted Fringe Tower

Thops' Erudition gesture can be used to unlock the Converted Fringe Tower to the east of the Frenzied Flame Village in Liurnia.

To unlock the tower seal, perform Erudition in front of it while wearing any type of Glinstone Crown. At the top of the tower, players will get the Gavel of Haima and Cannon of Haima sorceries.

Fast Travel to The Academy of Raya Lucaria

After players give Thops their extra Academy Glintstone Key, fast travel to the Schoolhouse Classroom site of grace in the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

Thops' corpse can be found sitting in front of a desk after you step out of the classroom (leading to the outside area with the water wheel). He will drop Thops's Bell Bearing, the Academy Glintstone Staff, as well as a spell called Thops's Barrier.

Give the Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks

Giving Thops's Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks will re-unlock his merchant inventory for purchase at the Roundtable Hold.

The Unfortunate Student

• Thops was a student mage at the Academy of Raya Lucaria. He claims he is a mage of no import as his powers pale in comparison to many of his peers. Locked out of the academy after the Glintstone Seals activated, Thops takes refuge in the Church of Irith in Liurnia.
• If given an Academy Glinstone Key, Thops will return to the Schoolhouse Classroom to further his studies. He will invite the Tarnished to come visit him someday. Doing so will let you see that Thops died before he could achieve the rank of an accomplished sorcerer.

Trivia

• Players can ask Thops about Sellen and why she was branded an apostate by the Academy. He will share that she was accused of harming certain sorcerers under the name of the Graven Witch.
• Unlike many Raya Lucarian sorcerers players meet and fight, Thops bears no Glintstone Crown upon his head. If you read the item description of these crowns, it will say that they are only bestowed upon those whose pursuits are deemed worthy.
