Access Academy Crystal Cave on the northwestern side of the large island in the north of the lake, nearby the Crystalline Woods Site of Grace. You'll need two Stonesword Keys to enter.

Get the Stonesword Key

After defeating the sorcerers casting spells in the main room with the large crystals, head northeast to a small room with a cage in it. Pick up the Stonesword Key from the light glowing from the corpse inside the cage.

Crystal Staff Behind an Illusory Wall

Just before the Crystalian boss fight, there is a Illusory wall nearby that you can hit to reveal a path you can get the Crystal Staff from. It's located besides the storage area, where you fight a Haima Sorcerrer.

Beat Crystalian

The Academy Crystal Cave boss is a pair of Crystalians. One Crystalian wields a long spear and the other casts spells with its Staff. Even the odds by using a Spirit Summon. Godrick Soldier Ashes is recommended as they deal blunt damage, which the Crystalians are weak to.

You'll also want to bring a blunt weapon to this boss fight like a Morning Star, as swords and other slashing weapons do very little damage against the Crystalians' hard exterior. Defeating them will reward you with the Crystal Release spell.

How to Beat Crystalian

Obtain Terra Magica

After defeating the Crystalians, you can proceed forward and climb up a ladder. At the top is a chest that contains Terra Magica, a powerful spell that creates a sigil that raises the magic strength of those within it, making it very useful if you want to boost up your damage.
