Kenneth Haight Questline Walkthrough

Asks the Tarnished to Help Liberate His Fort

After a short introduction, Kenneth will request that you clear out Fort Haight past Mistwood Ruins in return for a reward.

Head to Fort Haight and Clear It Out

You can find Fort Haight southeast of Mistwood Ruins, and there is a clear path from Kenneth's initial location. Alternatively, you can fast travel to the Fort Haight West Site of Grace if you have previously touched the site of grace.

Tip: To avoid the large bears that infest the Mistwood, hug the eastern cliffs until you arrive at Fort Haight. On the way you can also encounter a Nomadic Merchant and Tears for your Flask of Wondrous Physick.

Once at Fort Haight, you will need to clear all enemies within the fort including the Lordsworn Knight that uses and drops the Bloody Slash Ash of War.

Return to Kenneth for a Reward

Once the fort is cleared, return to Kenneth who will reward you with an Erdsteel Dagger. Talk to him again and he will give you the option to pledge your service to him. Accept it so that he moves to his next location.

Once you accept Kenneth's offer of knighthood, he will ask you to return to Fort Haight to receive your title. Demi-Humans are now living in the fort, and while slightly easier to deal with, can mob you if enough are aggroed or enraged.

Deal with the intruders before speaking to Kenneth at the fort's ramparts. He will share his lamentations and inform you that he has no real authority in Limgrave and is currently seeking the true heir of Limgrave.

After Patch 1.03, completing Nepheli Loux's questline will have Kenneth move to Godrick's throne room in Stormveil Castle. Speak to him there and he will tell you he has selected Lady Nepheli to be the new ruler of Limgrave.

Note: If players cannot get Kenneth to move during late game, try resting at the Godrick the Grafted site of grace and select the option to pass the time.

Complete Nepheli's Questline

To finally complete Kenneth Haight's questline, players will first have to finish Nepheli Loux's. Do note that her questline is quite lengthy, and involves killing Morgott the Omen King in Leyndell as the final step.

If you speak to him after completing Nepheli's questline in Stormveil Castle's throne room, he will cheerfully state that he's ready to grant your promised knighthood but still has duties commanding the castle alongside Nepheli.

Lore

• Kenneth Haight is a noble in the Lands Between and rightful owner of Fort Haight in Limgrave. When the Tarnished first meets him, he will claim that the forces of Godrick have seized his fort. He asks the Tarnished to take it back in order to be knighted by his esteemed self.
• After the fort is retaken, Kenneth rewards the Tarnished with an Erdsteel Dagger. This dagger is carried by Erdtree royalty, further proof that Kenneth can back up all his talk about being a noble.
• However, the unmanned Fort Haight is soon taken over by demi-humans. Distraught at his powerlessness, Kenneth seeks to find a strong ruler for Limgrave after the facade of his True Order is broken down.
• In the end, he becomes a guarantor of Nepheli Loux's lordship when she takes the throne of Stormveil. When the Tarnished speaks to him inside the Stormveil Castle Throne Room, he claims that he will soon make you a knight after having found a fitting lord for Limgrave.

Trivia

• Kenneth Haight's Ruler's Robe armor can be found in the Altus Plateau. It will be on a fallen carriage near the Abandoned Coffin site of grace, just north of the elevator you use after defeating Magma Wyrm Makar.
• The conclusion of Kenneth Haight's quest was added during Patch 1.03 of Elden Ring. However, unlike Nepheli or Gostoc, Kenneth's conclusion does not really offer any reward for completion. In fact, players can skip his questline and still get the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone from Nepheli.
