Diallos Quest Walkthrough

Quest Objectives

Speak to Diallos at the Roundtable Hold

Diallos Request

When you first speak to Diallos in the Roundtable Hold, he will tell you about a young woman named Lanya. She is a servant to his noble house and is described as being Diallos' companion since childhood.

Once the conversation ends, he will ask the Tarnished to keep an eye out for her as she seems to have gotten lost in the Lands Between.

Unfortunately, players will encounter both Diallos and Lanya together in the overworld once they reach Liurnia. You can find Diallos at the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace, standing over the body of Lanya. Speak to him to get the next part of his questline.

After exhausting his lines, return to the Roundtable Hold. Diallos will be in his usual spot. Speak to him to know his next move against Lanya's killers. He'll tell you to go to the Volcano Manor in the Mt. Gelmir region.

Diallos will next appear inside Volcano Manor. Join the Recusants to get access to the Drawing Room and find Diallos. Speak to him and he will tell you that you should now watch each other's backs.

Complete contracts for the Volcano Manor before returning to the Drawing Room and speak to Diallos. Eventually he will tell you that he has given up on revenge and was instead convinced to actually join by Tanith.

Defeat Rykard the Lord of Blasphemy

Defeat Rykard

In order to progress Diallos' questline, players will need to complete the final mission of the Volcano Manor. Defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy to advance the manor's world-state. This will get Diallos to leave for Jarburg.

How to Beat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy

Speak to Diallos the Potentate in Jarburg

Map Location
World View

After players beat Rykard and Volcano Manor is vacated by the NPCs, Diallos will move to Jarburg in Liurnia. Speak to Jar-Bairn and exhaust his dialogue (while reloading the area for fresh dialogue) until Diallos comes up.

Jar-Bairn will tell you that the warrior has become the village's new Potentate. He can be found in a hut inside Jarburg, tending to one of the jars.

Speak to Diallos after He Defends Jarburg

Defender of Jarburg

To progress this quest, fast travel away and return to Jarburg until you see many of the jars smashed up (this may take a few tries). Diallos should be in the middle of the village, breathing his last after defending the jars.

Despite Jar-Bairn being the sole survivor of the Poacher attack, tell Diallos he managed to Defend the Jars. After he dies, speak to Jar-Bairn before reloading the area.

Loot Diallos' Mask and Weapon

Diallos Rewards

Once the area reloads, you will see Jar-Bairn feasting on Diallos' flesh. This ensures the memory of Diallos the Potentate lives on in the little warrior jar.

Reload the area again and there should be a loot drop where Diallos' body was. Pick it up to get a Hoslow's Petal Whip, Diallos's Mask, and a Numen's Rune.

Continues Jar-Bairn's Questline

Diallos Information and Lore

Lore

  • Diallos of House Hoslow is a Tarnished residing in the Roundtable Hold. While seemingly aloof, he continuously worries after his wayward family servant, Lanya.
  • The motto of his house is as follows: The tale of House Hoslow is told in blood. Diallos vows to make true the statement when he finds Lanya murdered in the wilds of Liurnia.
  • Diallos has an older brother named Juno Hoslow who adored him. Despite Diallos' misgivings about being a disgrace to his family, Juno was more than happy to shoulder the responsiblity of being the Hoslow family heir. Juno, in the end, only wanted his younger brother to be spared from his family's bloody legacy.
  • After Diallos witnesses Lanya's death, he joins the recusants of Volcano Manor to hopefully destroy the organization from within. However, he wavers upon hearing Tanith's words. When his resolve crumbles, he submits himself to the teachings of the Manor.
  • When Rykard is slain and the Volcano Manor falls, Diallos flees. Unable to face the shame of his helplessness, he finds refuge in Jarburg. Here, in a rare peaceful corner in the Lands Between, Diallos finds purpose for his unblemished hands; recusant Diallos is reborn as Diallos the Potentate.
  • In the end, there would be no happy ending for Diallos. A poacher attacks the village, hoping to harvest the living jars for their magical innards. In a valiant effort, Diallos kills the poacher but is mortally wounded in the process.
  • As he lays dying, the Tarnished hears his last words. The lone survivor of the attack, Jar-Bairn, consumes his body to preserve the legacy of House Hoslow.

Trivia

  • The recusants that Diallos zealously hates are commanded by Lady Tanith of the Volcano Manor. Diallos paints them as ruffians and cold-blooded murderers while Rya, a servant of Lady Tanith, calls them a family of champions.
  • When Diallos is attacked, he uses a Distinguished Greatshield in his off-hand. This particular shield can be bought off of the Hermit Merchant at the Capital Outskirts of Leyndell.
  • As of Patch 1.03, Diallos is one of the few NPCs that had his questline fixed and concluded. Previously, his mask and whip would only drop if you killed him in Liurnia.

Diallos Quotes

"Ah, hello. You must be new here. I'm...Well, just call me Diallos. The honor of one's house holds little import in these lands."
"Be sure to tell me if you meet a young woman named Lanya. She's a servant to my house. She's been my companion since childhood. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to find her like this. Honestly, she's such a little tomboy."
"They laid hands upon my servant Lanya, and I refuse to let the insult stand. The tale of House Hoslow is told in blood. I, Diallos, swear to deliver the message. "
"Ah, you. Are the jars...they alright? Did I defend them? Then all is well... This fool proved his worth, in the end... "
