Jerren can be found inside Redmane Castle in Caelid. To reach the castle safely, players will need to use the waygate beside the Impassable Greatbridge site of grace.

How to Complete Jerren's Questline

Witch Hunter Jerren is an NPC tied to the questline of Sorceress Sellen. Follow and complete his questline to defeat the Graven Witch of Raya Lucaria and receive an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for your troubles.

Join Radahn's Festival of Combat

Your first interaction with Jerren will be during the Festival of Combat in Caelid. You can find him speaking to the champions participating in the fight to kill Radahn after you teleport there.

Speak to him to know more about Radahn and to receive the Heartening Cry gesture. Participate in the Festival of Combat to progress Jerren's questline.

Defeat Starscourge Radahn

The first and biggest step to advance Jerren's questline is defeating Starscourge Radahn. Prepare for a tough battle since this boss hits harder than the shardbearers of both Limgrave and Liurnia.

Note: Killing Radahn will advance the world state of your playthrough. Other NPC questlines will be affected by this change, so complete them first before taking on the mighty general.

How to Beat Starscourge Radahn

Summon Jerren for the Battle

For players diving into Radahn's boss fight, Jerren will be a summonable NPC during the general's second phase. Look for the summon sign of Castellan Jerren to see the old witch-hunter in action.

Speak to Jerren after the Battle

After you defeat the general, return to Redmane Castle and speak to Jerren near the chapel. Exhaust his dialogue to get him to leave and take care of his unfinished business with Sellen.

Warning: If you fast travel away after the fight, Redmane Castle's regular bosses may spawn in (if you have not beaten them yet). If this happens, players will need to defeat the Misbegotten Warrior & Crucible Knight duo to get to Jerren.

Give Sellen a New Body

In order to progress Jerren's questline, players will have give Sellen a new body. Progress her questline to the point after finding Master Lusat in the Sellia Hideaway to get the option to help her.

Jerren will only spawn at the Witchbane Ruins after you reach the Three Sisters area in Caria Manor and find a younger replacement body for the sorceress.

Find Jerren at the Witchbane Ruins

Players will next encounter Jerren at the Witchbane Ruins in the Weeping Peninsula. You will find him standing over Sellen's dead body. Exhaust his dialogue to progress his questline.

Note: If Jerren does not appear in the Witchbane Ruins, it means you have not progressed Sellen's quest yet. He will only spawn after you give Sellen a new body.

Help Jerren Defeat Sellen

The final act of Jerren's questline is a battle against the Graven Witch at the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Head over to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library site of grace and use the red summon sign outside the library doors to invade and defeat Sellen.

Side with Jerren

Use the red summon sign and help Jerren defeat Graven Witch Sellen. You will get Sellen's Bell Bearing and the Witch's Glintstone Crown after defeating her and returning to your world.

Alternatively, players can choose the gold sign to help out Sellen. Defeat the now hostile Witch-Hunter Jerren and he will drop his Eccentric's Armor, Eccentric's Hood, Eccentric's Manchettes, and Eccentric's Breeches. Additionally, Sellen will reward you with her Glintstone Kris after the battle.

Speak to Jerren Outside the Library

For players who sided with Jerren, defeating Sellen will spawn the Witch-Hunter just outside of the Grand Library doors. Speak to him there to receive an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone as a reward for your help.

Lore and Trivia

Lore

• Jerren served General Radahn as a guest commander. In an earlier time, both of them swore an oath of honorable death to one another. It is for this reason that Jerren presides over the festival of combat in Caelid.
• While Jerren was considered a nomad, he spent a significant time with Carian royals. It is for this reason that he has affiliations with Iji, the Carian Royal Family's blacksmith. With his duty to Radahn fulfilled, he now returns to Raya Lucaria to kill the infamous Graven Witch Sellen.

Trivia

• Jerren wields a Flamberge that can be found inside Redmane Castle. Additionally, during the fight against Sellen, he will use what appears to be a Carian Glintstone Staff in his off-hand.
• Jerren's Festival of Combat will not be ready if you go to Redmane Castle before meeting the Two Fingers. Speaking to the Castellan will have him tell you that the Festival will begin soon and to come back another time.
• Players have the option to kill Jerren at the Witchbane Ruins to get his armor set. However, this auto completes Sellen's questline, making it as if you sided with her during the Raya Lucaria invasion. Killing him also locks you out of a potential Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone reward for siding with the Witch Hunter.
