How to Pass the Test of Spear

Enter the Guild Base in Canina Village

The Canina Village Guild Base is located by the south of the village. This objective may cause confusion as Canina Village does not have an interactable Guild Base outside of this mission like Vienta Village. The Guild Base in Canina Village is purely for in-game lore and will not show a Guild Base icon on the map.

Interact with Aranka's Spear in Grayclaw Forest

After the interactions you will have with Aranka's Guardian's Pledge in the Canina Village Guild Base, you will be asked to go to Grayclaw Forest to interact with Aranka's Spear, which is located at the top of a tall, sloped rock. Interacting with the spear will teleport you to Aranka's Image.

Advance Through the Test

Defeat Imaginary Wolves

The Test of Spear in Aranka's Image will have you battle Imaginary Wolves that will spawn from Wolf Statues. Defeat them for a chance at damaging Wolf Statues.

Destroy the Wolf Statues

To advance through the test, you must destroy the Wolf Statues, which are invincible until you defeat all the Imaginary Wolves that spawn from it.

After defeating all the Imaginary Wolves, the designated Wolf Statue will become damageable and a timer will appear above it. If the time is up and the statue still has health, the Wolf Statue will become invincible again and more Imaginary Wolves will spawn out of it. You will have to defeat the Imaginary Wolves all over again until you can destroy the Wolf Statue before the timer finishes.

After destroying the Wolf Statues, you will have to defeat a big wolf enemy called Kemuka, who will be accompanied by more Imaginary Wolves. It is not a hard fight, but it is a precursor to the final boss of the Test of Spear, Shiwatuki.

Defeat Shiwatuki

Shiwatuki's battle implements the Wolf Statue system you have encountered earlier in the test. It is not a difficult fight, but focus on dealing damage to the boss and on destroying the Wolf Statues when possible.

Destroy the Wolf Statues to Weaken Shiwatuki's Defenses

At the start of the fight, Shiwatuki will have three stacks of Wolf's Blessing, which decreases damage taken. Destroying the Wolf Statues will decrease the stacks of Wolf Blessing. You can easily see how many stacks there are by how many wolf skulls are circling around the boss.

When you get Shiwatuki's health at around 80%, 60%, and 20%, it will glow purple, stand still, and be undamageable. Imaginary Wolves will spawn at this time and defeating them will allow you to destroy the Wolf Statues.

Dodge the Charge Attack

Shiwatuki has a fast charge attack that you will have to either move away or dodge from. It may be hard to predict, but prepare to act fast once you see a purple diamond. After charging, geysers will appear behind Shiwatuki, so make sure to stay out of their way to avoid taking damage. Geysers may also appear randomly throughout the battle, so watch out for those.

Avoid Shiwatuki's Shadows' Spinning Attack

When Shiwatuki's health is at around 40%, three of Shiwatuki's Shadows will spawn. Avoid their spinning attacks as best you can as its easy to get stuck in them and take constant damage.

After this point, all that is left is to defeat Shiwatuki in order to complete the quest and obtain Feral Wolfer Aranka as a Guardian.
