The Steelheart is a tanky melee bruiser that can apply relentless pressure to the enemy and aggressively stick to its chosen targets.
With its plethora of CC options, enemies will find it difficult to escape and can easily succumb to Steelheart's attacks.
And with the class's naturally high survivability, this makes the Steelheart a less-than-ideal target.

This build uses the new Fortitude stat in addition to the Strength stat that is standard for most melee classes. This gives the class a good mix of offensive and defensive stats, making it a good fit for most combat situations.

The weapon combination allows the player to quickly hone in on targets via Gale Rush, or pull them via Chain Hook. The flexibility of CC choices allows the player to control the pace of combat.
The DPS of this class is complemented by Unyielding Sentinel and Bloodleech Aura, which provide great survivability.
Annihilation Slash and Javelin Inferno provide movement speed slow, extending control over enemies while Tempest Strike and Abyssal Cleave are on cooldown.
In the early game, prioritize Vicious Fury, Javelin Surge, and Cyclonic Fury first, and take the necessary specializations to speed up the leveling process.
Passive skills are selected to increase overall DPS while providing survivability. Fatal Precision, Retaliatory Strike, and Imposing Form should be leveled first, followed by the rest of the sword and shield passives. .

Queen Bellandir's Languishing Blade is one of the best, if not the best, weapon for sword-and-shield users in PvP.
It's unique passive allows multiple targets to have their movement speed reduced, which provides insane value in PvP.
Coupled with a good amount of Strength, this makes Queen Bellandir's Languishing Blade highly desirable, which is reflected in its price.

As a tank, players would have to invest heavily in survivability in order to outlast the opposition.
With the release of the Fortitude Stat, enabled players to stack a lot more endurance than usual, providing a sizable boost to Melee, Magic and Ranged endurance.
Combining the Shock Commander and Imperator sets gives the Steelheart class a good mix of damage and survivability. Overall, this allows the build to invest equally in Perception and Fortitude while still having a good amount of Strength.

Because the rune synergy bonuses are significant, it is recommended that players prioritize building rune synergy rather than focusing on the correct rune stat.
Once the correct runes are set alongside the rune synergies, it increases the offensive capabilities of this build and reduces the gap between Magic Endurance and the other endurances in this build.

Mastery choices are based on improving survivability and increasing damage whenever possible.
The Spear has a good balance of all three mastery trees, Endurance, Ignite Damage, and Skill Damage Resistance are all great key passives to have.
Sword and Shield will mainly put points into the upper and lower mastery trees, as the boss tree is more PvE oriented.

For most battles, this will be the standard opening rotation. Gale Rush is used to close the gap, followed by Abyssal Cleave to quickly shut down the enemy.
This allows for a smooth transition to Phoenix Barrage, which has a slight delay before starting. Tempest Strike is then used to quickly shut down the enemy again, followed by two uses of Flaming Arc.
When the enemy recovers, use Annihilating Slash, followed by Explosive Fury. Since Explosive Fury is a short-range attack, the player can move for a short time between casts.
Finish the rotation with Javelin Inferno. The rest of the fire skills can be reused when they come off cooldown, and Chain Hook can be used to restart the rotation since Abyssal Cleave and Tempest Blow take a long time to cooldown.
Bloodleech Aura Creates an area the size of the Basic Attack Range that follows you for 5s and inflicts 60% of Base Damage + every second. Recovers Health equal to 13% of damage inflicted.

These skills are used in the midst of a fight because they help the player survive while also contributing to the overall damage done.
This allows players to retaliate when they take a hit, which is more suited to a brawler-oriented play style than a defensive turtling play style.
Death From Above Wrath Attack: Flies towards the target then descends to deal 200% of Base Damage to targets within a 5m-radius, with a 45% chance to apply Fear for 4s. Decreasing Movement Speed by 60% for 4s. Cannot be targeted while in the air. Skill cannot be canceled using a Defense Skill while in the air.

Annihilating Slash Deals damage equal to 240% of Base Damage + 14 to enemies within Attack Range. If used on a target you have Weakened, deals damage to 360% of Base Damage + 21. Annihilating Slash’s remaining cooldown decreases by 8% per damaged target.

Javelin Inferno Throws a spear at the designated target to deal 216% of Base Damage + 26. Spreads up to 3 times to 2 random targets within a 5m radius. On Critical Hit, applies the Weaken: Ignite effect. Flame Javelin can only be used upon defeating an enemy with a spear after registering the Flame Javelin trait or upon dealing damage using the Serial Explosion Strike skill. Ember stacks up to 5 times. 1 Ember stack is consumed on use.

As an ace in the hole, Death from Above can be used as a setup skill or follow up against grouped enemies. Follow up with a quick Annihilating Slash to slow their movement speed as they flee from the Fear debuff.
Sentinel's Bastion is used before the rest of the fire skills are unleashed for more damange and survivability.
When using Explosive Fury, try to line up targets as much as possible to deal the most AoE damage.
