A powerful melee attacker, the Spear has the unique ability to gather and disable multiple targets at once before unleashing fiery attacks.
While powerful, the class is not without its drawbacks. Skills that have multiple uses are completely halted if a single skill activation fails. This equates to a massive loss of DPS, even more so than other classes.

Focus on leveling Culling Arc, Vicious Fury, and Javelin Surge first. Spear skills will be the primary damage dealing skills, so prioritize on leveling them first.
Grab the Ignite specializations as soon as possible, as they will allow players to tear through the leveling process with ease.
Since this is a PvP build, a mix of survivability and damage is used for best results. Shadow Walker provides a bit more dodge, while Malice Surge can make retaliation a much deadlier affair.
Key passives such as Assassin's Instincts, Wrathful Edge, and Retaliatory Strike should be prioritized in the leveling process, as they do not require any setup.

Despite its melee nature, this class would have a hard time going toe to toe with other melee classes because it lacks sufficient damage mitigation and will have difficulty staying as long as the other classes.
It also runs into the issue of having to deal with melee evasion.
What this class excells in, is closing the gap, straight to the backline, and targetting the ranged classes.
Currently, backline DPS and supports don't usually build melee evasion, as it limits their choices in terms of offensive capabilities.
With this in mind, the item pieces are chosen to ensure that the player has enough evasion to perform the complete rotation in the backline once they get there.

Ultimate Power is the most important passive to get, as increasing attack speed allows rotations to finish much faster.
The rest of the points go into the Destroy tree, for even more damage, as Will of Annihilation increases skill damage by a flat amount.
For the daggers, getting the Assassination tree will be a priority, as Maddening Excitement also increases attack speed, which increases the build's ability to execute more skills in a shorter amount of time.
The rest go into the Poison tree, for the cooldown reduction via Shrewd Judgement.

Green Ranger Elowen is best used after using Death From Above on multiple targets. This allows multiple targets to be continuously disabled, allowing the players and their allies to wail on their enemies unchallenged.
Alternatively, Shade Revenant Stheno can be used if the player prefers to take down individual key targets.

For most single targets, this will be the default rotation. Select the target, close the gap, and simultaneously bind them with Shadow Strike. Follow up with Ankle Strike to knock them down.
Activate Unyielding Sentinel, then continue with the combo.Note that if any of the activated skills miss, adjust and move on to the next available skill.
If they survive Javelin Inferno, use Death From Above to put them in Fear state. Use Flaming Arc twice before stunning them with Abyssal Cleave. Finish up with Brutal Incision.
