Throne and Liberty (TL) has officially announced controller support for PC. Read on to learn more about controller support on PC and some general tips on playing with a controller.
According to the FAQ page on the official Throne and Liberty website, controller support will be available for PC players.
The developers have not mentioned if this support would be limited to specific types of gamepads, like Xbox controllers or Dualshock and Dualsense controllers, so we will assume for now that the controller support is universal.
On the PURPLE App client version of the game, playing with a controller is as simple as plugging it into your PC via USB, and then being notified that Controller Mode has been activated. Controller Mode is locked into the Action Mode camera and your camera will follow your right joystick by default.
We will be assuming the process will be just as simple for wireless controllers, as well as for the Steam client version of Throne and Liberty.
As Controller mode does not support Classic camera, you should be ready to hold down your bumpers and triggers a lot during your playtime to access different Skill slots and submenus.
There are no shortcut buttons to adjust your camera's zoom level outside of the Main Menu. You will have to enter the Main Menu and select Camera Settings, then adjust your zoom level using your bumpers before exiting and going back to exploring.
When you have a controller plugged in, you will see a Controller tab in the Settings menu. If you want to customize your buttons and controls, go to this tab, make sure you're in the Preset section, then switch to the User Defined submenu to change your controls and buttons.
