How to Level Up Fast

Ways to Level Up Fast

Progress the Main Story Quest

Leveling up has two primary benefits: it automatically increases your maximum damage output, and it unlocks more in-game content and features for you to grind and explore.

The fastest way to level up is to do Main Story Quests, or the Adventure Quests as the game calls them. These offer the most EXP proportional to your expected character level per Chapter. Progressing the Story will also unlock other Features and content that are good sources of EXP and materials.

You can see your progress in the Main Story Quest via the in-game Codex.

Do Appendix Quests for Bonus EXP

As you progress through the Main Story, you will also unlock Appendix Quests within each Chapter that unlock or guide you through newly accessible in-game features. Make sure to do these, both to gain EXP completion rewards and to unlock other Features that will serve as sources of EXP.

Complete Region Exploration Quests While in the Area

Each Main Story Quest will thrust you into a particular Region that's meant to match your current level in terms of difficulty and enemy strength.

Take advantage of this by clearing Exploration Quests while you are doing, or right after you finish, a Main Story Quest so that you maximize one-time EXP gains from the region.

Best Codex Quests to Complete

Complete Resistance Contracts

Resistance Contracts are a daily type of content that you can take on for EXP gains and other rewards. These consist of minor requests such as defeating a number of specific enemies, defending devices, or looting items.

It costs 1 Contract Right to accept a request, and you recharge 10 Contract Rights a day. If you find a Contract Scroll during exploration, you'll be able to accept the contract without having to spend any Rights.

Unlocked by Returning Contract Scroll to Ilira in Chapter 3

To start accepting Contracts, you will have to progress to Chapter 3 and reach the point where you return a lost Contract Scroll to Ilira in Starlight Observatory Ruins. This is a direct part of the Main Story Quest, so you'll naturally unlock the feature, unlike if it were tied to an Appendix.

After this, you can visit Contract Managers like Ilira to accept Resistance Contracts.

Climb Taedal's Tower

Taedal's Tower is a solo challenge ladder that unlocks as you complete each floor and meet the character level requirement. Each floor offers sizeable EXP and material rewards for players relative to the level requirement.

Unlocked by Speaking to Ashien After Defending Starlight Observatory

You can start challenging Taedal's Tower after finishing Ashien's Appendix in Chapter 3.

After defending Starlight Observatory Ruins from the Goblin attack led by Gnoller, speak to Ashien so that you can access the Tower by interacting with her painting or clicking on Secret Dungeons in the Main Menu.

Discover Mystic Globes

If you have Mystic Keys in your possession, you will be able to chance upon Mystic Globes during open-world exploration. Pick these up for some quick EXP, and for a chance to spawn a discoverable Mystic Portal that will grant even more EXP and rewards.

Search for Mystic Portals Upon Spawn

Mystic Globes have a random chance of spawning a Mystic Portal within the area where you picked up the Globe. If you manage to find and open this Portal, it will grant you additional EXP and materials.

To find the Portal, you will have to search within the blue circle marked on your map and find the dark Mystic Portal somewhere in the open world. Your Amitoi will alert you with visual and text cues if you are near the Portal.

Clear Overworld Dungeons

Throne and Liberty - Dungeon Exploration

Once you've secured a decent build for your character in terms of defense and damage, you'll be ready to take on overworld Dungeons. These require careful preparation, planning, and possibly support from a party of other players, but these offer great EXP gains even for high levels in the 50s.

The efficiency of Dungeon-clearing for leveling up depends heavily on your capacity to clear it quickly using good gear and weaponry.

Dungeons Guide

Unlocked at Level 18

If you're confident enough in your gear and skills, you can start tackling Dungeons by Level 18, which can be found easily on your Map. Once you reach this level, you will also automatically unlock the ability to use Abyssal Contract Tokens to boost your EXP gains inside Dungeons, along with other benefits.

Farm Open-World Enemies

If you're out of options to gather EXP, the simplest thing you can do is to farm open-world enemies. Enemies you eliminate will respawn after a short delay, so you can stay in your preferred region and continuously spawn-kill mobs.

How Long to Reach Level 50

20-30 Hours

If you follow all of the leveling tips above, as well as take into account the bottlenecks caused by the Main Story Quest level requirements, it should take you around 20-30 hours to fully level a character from level 1 to 50. This involves doing the Main Story Quests and Exploration Quests, as well as participating in some in-game Events.

It is, however, possible to level your character even faster, with some people only taking 6-8 hours to level a character to the cap.

Best Leveling Build to Use

Depends on Preferred Role

Role Weapon Combo
Tank Greatsword / Sword and Shield (Crusader)
DPS Dagger / Crossbow (Scorpion) or Staff / Crossbow(Battleweaver)
Healer Wand / Staff Build (Invocator)

These builds perform well in a PvE setting, which is what you'll be spending most of your time in during the leveling process. You can opt to change to a different weapon build if you want, however do so early as changing builds once you hit the end game is not optimal.

All Uncommon Equipment by Chapter 4

Once you hit Chapter 4 in the game, all of your equipment should already be Uncommon (Green). A fully leveled set of Uncommon equipment is enough to carry you to Level 50, so don't try to get Epic (Purple) equipment yet..

Remember to enchant your equipment to increase the stats that they provide. You should enchant your equipment to maximum whenever possible.

Supplement Build With Chapter Rewards

Whenever you finish a Main Story Quest chapter, you will be given the option to choose what your final reward is. Take this opportunity to select a reward that will help upgrade your current build, especially from Chapter 4 to 9 where all of the rewards are Rare (Blue).

Whenever you replace an Uncommon item with a Rare one, make sure to transfer the enchantment to save on Growthstones. As before, try to reach max enchantmet with your new equipment.

Track Unlocked Features in Leveling Log

Check Features and Leveling Missions per Level in the Log

The Leveling Log menu serves as a tracker for what type of content you should be tackling at your current level and what features you can unlock once your character has grown enough. It also rewards you for both leveling up and clearing certain missions that become accessible once you reach a specific character level.

All you need to do is click on the Leveling Log button in the Main Menu to find the Log, and go through it to check for future unlocks and missions that you can clear at your current level.
