Skill Enchantment Guide

Skill Enchantment is how you level up your character's skills in Throne and Liberty (TL). Keep reading to learn how to unlock Skill Enchantment, how to level up your Skills, where to get Skill Growth materials, and what Skill Growth Rate is.

How to Unlock Skill Enchantment

Reach Character Level 4

You will automatically unlock the ability to level up your Skills through Skill Enchantment after raising your character to level 4. Right after you reach this level, a prompt should show up on the lower right of your screen telling you that you can now enhance your Skills.

Go to Skill Enchantment Menu in Main Menu

Once you've reached Level 4, you just have to press the Skills button in your Main Menu to navigate to Skill Enchantment. You can also just press the shortcut indicated on the lower right of the Skills button to go to Skill Enchantment immediately.

How to Enchant Skills

Click the Arrow Icon on Enchantable Skills

When you go inside the Skills menu, Skills that can be enchanted will be marked by an upward arrow on the upper left of their icon. Click on the arrow itself to enter a specific Skill's Enchantment menu.

Gather Skill Growth Materials

Each time you enchant a Skill to level it up, you are required to spend a certain amount of Growth Books, which come in three rarities: green Quality books, blue Rare books, and purple Precious books. The higher a Skill's level, the higher the quantity and quality of Books required to grow it in succeeding levels.

Ensure that you also have enough of the right type of Growth Book: Active Skills require Active Skill Growth Books, while Passive Skills require Passive Skill Growth Books.

Find Growth Book Sources by Pressing How to Acquire

To find sources of Growth Books, click on the icon of the Book, then click on the How to Acquire button, with an icon of the letter i. Navigate the unlocked tabs to find out where you can get Growth Books based on your current exploration and adventure progress.

Growth Books are Craftable

If you have enough raw materials, you can opt to craft Growth Books instead of having to complete Quests or purchase them from Merchants.

How to Farm Skill Growth Books

Check Your Skill's Stat Changes

Check the left side of the Enchant Skill to see the stat growth after you reach the Skill's next level so that you can determine if you wish to push through with leveling up the Skill or if you want to save the Growth Books for more significant growth in another Skill.

Once you are set, press Level Up at the bottom of the screen to initiate the Skill Enchant process.

Use All Materials by Toggling Continue Until Next Level

By default, the game will make you expend just enough Growth Materials as required by your Skill's level each time you press Level Up.

You can tick the option to Continue Until Next Level to expend more than the minimum required books, speeding up the leveling process so you don't have to press Level Up multiple times to go up a single level. The amount of XP that can overflow into the next Skill level varies from 13-100% based on skill rarity..

Skill Growth Rate

Randomized Rates for Leveling Up Skills

It's important to understand that Growth Books do not give a specific amount of XP; they are just the requirement to initiate the Skill Enchantment process. The actual amount of Skill XP or level-up progress is determined by Skill Growth Rate.

Skill Growth Rate is a fixed chance to get a specific percentage of Growth within a Skill Level after you press Level Up. This means there is RNG every time you level up a Skill; you might only raise a Skill's level by 25-40% per press of Level Up, or you could get lucky and get 70-100% Skill Growth in one go.

Growth Rate is Determined After Level Up

You can tell what type of Growth Rate you rolled by checking the type of Growth Light that soaked into your Skill.
