This is a guide on the Spellblade Dagger and Staff build for PvE in Throne and Liberty (TL). This guide shows how to effectively use the Spellblade Dagger and Staff to deal high magic damage, including the best gears to equip, skill rotations, runes, traits, and more.

The Staff and Dagger build serves as the primary magic damage dealer in most comps. This build focuses on dealing damage through Chain Lightning and Judgement Lightning, with the damage being boosted by Burning and Frost stacks. This is supplemented with Thunderclouds from the Dagger skill path.

For stat allocation, invest until Wisdom reaches 60. This is to make use of stat breakpoints that increase mana, and reduce cooldowns. The rest of the points can be evenly reallocated into hitting the Level 30 Breakpoints in Strength, Dexterity, and Perception.

Reusing the skill within 9s will trigger a stabbing attack with the both hands, where stab inflicts 90% + 3 damage, and then turn to inflict additional 135% + 5 damage. The turning attack is increased by 2% per each Poison stack.

Serial Fire Bombs Serial Fire Bombs A Fire skill that deals 120% of Base Damage + 22 damage and inflicts Weaken: Burning with an 80% chance to every enemy within 3m radius from the target. 2 Weaken: Burning is applied to the target (3, if the hit was critical). Burning lasts for 12s and deals 1% of Base Damage + 1 damage per stack per sec. Stacks up to 10 times. It can be used up to 3 times in a row. The casting time decreases and Mana cost increases as the skill is used consecutively. All Fire skills’ Weaken: Burning Damage is equal to Serial Fire Bombs.

Judgement Lightning Judgement Lightning A lightning skill that deals 630% of Base Damage + 166. When the target is Wet, or Frosted by you, deals 420% + 110 damage up to 5 enemies within 5m. The damage is amplified by 40% against bosses. When used on an enemy Burned by you, the skill can be used again with a 2.5% chance for every 1 stack. Block Blade Block Blade Defends against attacks. On defending against a Fury Attack while stationary, 180 Mana regenerates. On Defending against a Fury Attack within 0.5s, Block Blade changes to Poison Dagger for 3s. Wrath Attacks can’t be defended. Use with the directional buttons to defend against attacks while moving 4m to the designated direction for 0.5s. Becomes Stealthed for 3s to make yourself unable to be targeted and increase Mana Regen by 450 after defending against Fury or Wrath Attack. Block Blade changes to Poison Dagger. The first attack while Stealthed is a Critical Hit. Stealth ends when you attack or morph. Poison Dagger: Throws up to 5 daggers at enemies within a 5m radius, dealing 100% damage and applying Weaken: Poison. Distributes the attack if there are multiple enemies within range.

Inject Venom is the only buff in this build that players need to activate before engaging. Taking Lightning Infusion under Inject Venom is a non-negotiable, as it is with any other skill specialization under that allows the player to apply Thunderclouds.
The main sources of damage will be Chain Lightning and Judgment Lightning. These skills gain properties depending on whether the target has Burning or Frost stacks.
Serial Firebombs, Inferno Wave, and Fireball Barrage are attacks that apply Burning on enemies. When using Lightning skills, these gain bonus damage based on Burning stacks.
Frost Smokescreen and Ice Spear are attacks that apply Frost on opponents. They are useful for proccing AOE effects on Lightning skills.
Inner Peace and High Focus is used to to alleviate mana problems, and should be used when needed.
Prioritize Serial Firebombs, Ice Spear, and Judgment Lightning when levelling skills, as these will be the main source of damage.
Murderous Energy and Destructive Fang synergize with Thunderclouds applications, shredding defenses and making the debuff last longer.
Forbidden Sanctuary, Assassin's Instincts, and Manaball Eruption both provide extra damage from stats or simply more damage instances.
Flame Condensation and Frost Master increase the effectivity of both Burning and Move Speed Reduction.
Asceticism allows for more mana regen when standing still.
Prioritize levelling Manaball Eruption, Flame Condensation, Forbidden Sanctuary, and Destructive Fang to significantly boost the damage and synergy of this kit.

Lequirus's Wicked Thorns provides a solid damage boost when using mobility skills, and a boost to the Wisdom stat. This can be used in conjunction with Shadow Strike and Shadow Escape to boost damage inbetween Skill rotations. Take traits and resonances that give Heavy Attack Chance, and Attack Speed, as the Staff benefits from having a high Heavy Attack Chance.

Queen Bellandir's Hivemind Staff is the best-in-slot Staff for this build, providing Wisdom, as well as Critical Hit Chance and Cooldown Speed. This Staff also possesses an effect that applies the Explosive Insect effect, greatly boosting your damage on a build that can afflict Burning for multiple stacks.

The Mother Nature set bonus increases the Weaken Duration for skills that apply Weaken, and furthermore increases the effective range of this build, making it best in slot. For this build, focus on building Max Mana and Mana Regen first, and taking offensive traits such as Cooldown Speed and Buff Duration when available.
For accessories, Blessed Templar Choker helps with this build's mana problems, while Ancient Saurodoma Bracers, Sapphire Dimensional Bandm, Abyssal Grace Band, and Girdle of Spectral Skulls help the build reach its stat breakpoints in Dexterity, with extra stats to mitigate mana problems.

This rune loadout prioritizes offensive stats and alleviating mana problems. Prioritize synergies that give Wisdom and Cooldown Speed, while also taking Runes with bonus Heavy Attack Chance, Critical Hit Chance, Max Mana, and Mana Regen.

This mastery loadout prioritizes skill uptime, and increasing debuff applications. Invest five points into Disguise, and seven points each into Poison and Assassination. This maximizes Mana regulating perks, as well as damage perks. Maxing out Destroy and Attribute on the Staff tree is also important, as these provide a plethora of bonus stats such as damage boosts, Cooldown Speed and Weaken Chance.

Chain Lightning A lightning skill that deals 320% of Base Damage + 22 damage. Deals 4% increased damage per stack against a target to which you applied Burning. Damage transfers to other enemies within a 5m radius from the target up to 3 times if the target is Wet, or Frosted by you. Damage decreases by 20% every time it transfers, and it will not transfer to a target already affected. Cooldown decreases by 20% if you’re Wet.

Judgement Lightning A lightning skill that deals 630% of Base Damage + 166. When the target is Wet, or Frosted by you, deals 420% + 110 damage up to 5 enemies within 5m. The damage is amplified by 40% against bosses. When used on an enemy Burned by you, the skill can be used again with a 2.5% chance for every 1 stack. When you land a Heavy Attack with this skill, it can be immediately used again, and when the second Judgement Lightning strikes the target as a Heavy Attack, reduces the cooldown by 30%.

This will be the main skill rotation for clearing mobs and dealing AOE damage. First, activate Inject Venom. Then, inflict Frost with Ice Spear, before using Chain Lightning and Judgment Lightning to deal AOE damage.
For this rotation, take Ice Spear Bombardment under Ice Spear to boost your damage, as well as Chain Damage and Guaranteed Damage Transfer under Chain Lightning and Judgment Lightning to increase its spread and prevent damage fall-off.

Serial Fire Bombs A Fire skill that deals 120% of Base Damage + 22 damage and inflicts Weaken: Burning with an 80% chance to every enemy within 3m radius from the target. 2 Weaken: Burning is applied to the target (3, if the hit was critical). Burning lasts for 12s and deals 1% of Base Damage + 1 damage per stack per sec. Stacks up to 10 times. It can be used up to 3 times in a row. The casting time decreases and Mana cost increases as the skill is used consecutively. All Fire skills’ Weaken: Burning Damage is equal to Serial Fire Bombs.

Inferno Wave A Fire skill that deals damage equal to 260% of Base Damage + 62 to all enemies within 3m of the target. Attacking a target that you applied Burning to will boost the damage by 3.1% per stack, with a 70% chance to apply Weaken: Burning. If you land a heavy attack on a target that applied Burning to, 2 stacks of Weaken: Burning are applied.

Fireball Barrage Casts a fire skill that deals 40% of Base Damage + 11 damage 10 times. The damage is amplified by 60% against monsters. Can move around or take other actions after casting the skill.

This skill rotation is centered around inflicting Burning to deal high single target damage. First, activate Lightning Infusion before starting off your rotation. Then, activate Serial Firebombs, Inferno Wave, and Fireball Barrage. While Fireball Barrage is active, cast Judgment Lightning and Chain Lightning.
To improve overall DPS, Instant Activation is recommended for Serial Fire Bombs, as well as Burning and Consecutive Use for Inferno Wave. Lastly, take Fireball Frenzy under Fireball Barrage as it increases the amount of fireballs fired per stack of Burning.
