Can be Challenging to play |
This build utilises pure ranged DPS with relatively short cooldowns, allowing it to dish out punishment from a safe distance.
As the Longbow has a longer range than the Crossbow, it would take some time to adjust to the maximum range of the crossbow to avoid the character moving into Crossbow range when switching from the Longbow.
While having short cooldowns is great, it could also be detrimental as the player can easily get overwhelmed with skills past the opening rotation. Coupled with other mechanics on each encounter, it's easy to get lost on what to use first.
However, the downsides can be mitigated as the player gains experience, with the exception of mana management, which requires allies to completely fix.
Prioritise putting points into Dexterity, as this is the best way to increase damage, and Perception to increase hit chance and ranged damage.

This build does away with utility skills, with the exception of the Deadly Marker, as it is a personal and party DPS booster.
Since Mother Nature's Protest will consume most of the mana, Mana Exchange is used to alleviate some of the mana problems in this build.
Prioritise levelling Quick Fire, Zephyr's Nock, and Strafing as they will provide a significant amount of the build's DPS early on, before the harder hitting skills become available.

Queen Bellandir's Toxic Spine Throwers | ・Heavy Attack Chance ・Hit ・Critical Hit ・Heavy Attack Chance |
Weapon Effect | Queen Bellandir's Corruptive Venom | On Critical Hit with a crossbow, creates a 20% chance of applying Weaken: Poison, which deals 110% of Base Damage over time every second for 5s and stacks up to 3 times. |
Queen Bellandir's Toxic Spine Throwers is the weapon to go for, as the build will be stacking a lot of Dexterity, there would be plenty of opportunities to trigger a critical hit. Since the weapon itself provides a decent amount of Dexterity, this is a no-brainer.
Secondary Weapon | |
---|---|
Tevent's Arc of Wailing Death | ・Heavy Attack Chance ・Hit ・Critical Hit ・Heavy Attack Chance |
Weapon Effect | Tevent's Bombardment | Shoots a bonus projectile whenever using Strafing, dealing 54% of Base Damage |
While Karnix Netherbow is a tempting option, it is recommended to use Tevent's Arc of Wailing Death instead to maintain range consistency. As the Strafing combo will be used quite often, it's the better choice for this build.

The Death Set is a great fit for this build, as it improves the critical damage and attack speed that this build really benefits from. Max Mana and Mana Regeneration traits are taken whenever possible, as this build consumes mana at a rapid rate.
The rest of the armour and accessories are used to increase Dexterity and Perception. With this build, it is possible to reach 60 Dexterity and 60 Perception breakpoints, with points to spare.

Longbow | ・Sniping (9 Pts) ・Check (6 Pts) |
Maxing out the Chainfire tree is the best option, as all of it's passives contribute significantly to increasing DPS. The Move tree is also of great benefit, as it increases the chance of a Heavy Attack, so 6 points will be spent here.
For the longbow, the goal is to get to Brutal Shooter as quickly as possible to increase Critical Damage. The rest of the points will go to the Check tree to get to Gale Arrowhead to reduce all cooldowns.

How to Play Longbow / Crossbow Build |

▶ ▶ ▶ ▶ |
Toggle Mother Nature's Protest on before starting, to ensure that all skills have the Gale effect. Once Deadly Marker and Mortal Mark are applied, start dealing damage with Quick Fire, Strafing Combo, and Ensnare Arrow for Decisive Sniping.
Quick Fire should be ready as soon as Decisive Sniping finishes casting, so use it before rounding up with Mana Exchange to replenish mana reserves.

Thanks to Blitz, Merciless Barrage can be cast twice in quick succession. As the cooldown of Blitz can't be reduced, it's better to wait for Blitz to complete its cooldown before casting Merciless Barrage again to prevent Blitz from drifting.

A staple of any longbow build, be prepared to use this combo a lot as most crossbow skills are cast quickly. Thanks to Mortal Mark being part of the kit, this can deal even more damage.
Ideally, this rotation should be done when Deadly Marker is applied to the target, but may not be readily available due to cooldown restrictions.
