War Games is a game mode where players can battle in team on one of several in-game content maps in Throne and Liberty (TL). Read on to learn an explanation of War Games, and the mechanics of War Games!

War Games Explained

PvP Team Battle Game Mode

War Games is a PvP team battle game mode where players can battle in teams on one of the many in-game content maps. Players can create battles and customize its settings to create a unique PvP battle experience.

The games created by players are displayed in the lobby of the War Games screen.

Determines the Guild Battle type; Boonstone or Riftstone. This option affects other mechanics.

Content Description
Boonstone Teams will compete to occupy the Boonstone. Once a team takes control, they will then have to defend it from opposing teams. The team that has control over the Boonstone when the timer ends will be the winner.
Riftstone Teams will compete to occupy the Riftstone. Once a team takes control, they will then have to defend it from opposing teams. The team that has control over the Riftstone or Boonstone when the timer ends will be the winner.

Warzone

Determines the specific in-game map the battle will take place. The maps depend on the content type.

Time Limit

Determines the time limit of the battle. The time options depend on the content type. It can go for at least 5 minutes to as long as 30 minutes.

Team Build

Determines how the teams are organized:

  • Manual Setup - By Host - Enter as an observer. Teams are organized by the host and their appointed team leaders.
  • Manual Setup - Free - Enter as an observer. Players can join any team of their choice.
  • Auto Setup - Enter as an observer. Teams are organized by the host and their appointed team leaders.

Team Count

Determines how many teams there are for the game. The number of teams depends on the content type.

Members

Determines how many players there are for each team. The number of players per team depends on the content type. Teams don't have to have the same number of members to start the game.

Team Appearances

Determines whether team emblems are enabled or disabled:

  • Enabled - Team emblems will be displayed instead of guild emblems, and team appearances will be displayed instead of character appearances.
  • Disabled - Only guild emblems will be replaced with team emblems.

Public Settings

Determines whether the game is public or private:

  • Public - Accessible without needing a password.
  • Private - Needs a password to enter.
  • Password - If the game is set to private, the host can set a password for players to enter and join the game.

Cross-Server

Players can compete with players from other servers within their region.

Spectator Mode

Players may also just watch a match as a spectator. Spectators are invisible to the rest of the players during the match.

War Games Rewards

No Rewards Given

As announced in the Tico Talks for November (skip to 6:25 of the video), War Games do not provide any rewards for players. The developers are relying on player feedbacks to determine the future of the game mode, so it's highly encouraged for players to send their feedbacks!
