Wand / Staff |
The vast array of magic skills this build possesses provides a variety of ways to deal with enemies. The flexibility of this weapon combination allows for a lot of creativity in how to approach battles.
This build can be configured for Curses to slowly drain enemy Health via DoTs and Burn Stacks. Damage mitigation and healing skills are available if the party lacks survivability.
This weapon combination can also be built for crowd control for faster clear times.
Alternative Mage Builds | |

Longbow / Staff | Staff / Crossbow |
Dagger / Staff | - |
With the unique ability of each weapon to synergistically reduce the cooldown of both, this build is able to deal significant damage with a barrage of hard hitting spells.
Thanks to the Longbow, this allows the staff to remain stationary and increase the magic damage dealt by sacrificing mobility.
Best Longbow / Staff Build (PvE)
Dealing massive amounts of AoE damage is the focus of this build, and it has it in spades. Thanks to Mother Nature's Protest, the weapon combination can consistently apply Fire damage to both weapon skills.
Mortal Mark and Selfless Diffusion allow this build to stay relevant against single targets, boosting damage dealt while reducing skill cooldowns. Lower cooldowns simplify the whole business of managing burn stacks, making it easier to reapply.
Best Staff / Crossbow Build (PvE)
Fire and Lightning is the core of this build and the source of its high damage. Creating Burning Stacks followed by Judgement Lightning allows for a quick burst of damage with the ability to go for consecutive uses. With plenty of mobility and stealth options, post-melee disengagement would be no problem.
Staff and Dagger offers a lot of options for dealing damage, and builds can be quite distinctive. It can be tuned for AoE or multiple consecutive hits to finish with a Brutal Incision.
