How to Beat Elite Four Bertha (First Rematch)

Watch Out for the Move Earthquake

BDSP - Gyarados Against Bertha

All of Bertha's Pokemon will have the move Earthquake, which is an incredibly powerful Ground type move. To counter her Earthquake, bring a Flying type Pokemon, a Pokemon with the ability Levitate, or a Grass type Pokemon that resists the attack.

Set Up Stat Boosts During Whiscash

BDSP - Dragon Dance During Whiscash

If you plan on using stat-boosting moves like Dragon Dance or Swords Dance during the battle, it is best to set up while Whiscash is out on the field. If you are using Gyarados, you can place it at the front of your party and sweep her team after using Dragon Dance.

Watch Out for Golem's Sturdy Ability

BDSP - Bertha

Bertha's Golem will have the ability Sturdy, so it cannot be taken down in a single hit. After it survives the hit, Bertha will likely replenish its health with a Full Restore. To prevent this, chip at its health with a weaker move before taking it out completely.

How to Beat Elite Four Bertha (Second Rematch)

Simlar to the First Rematch

BDSP - Gyarados against Nidoking

During the second rematch, Bertha's team will have their levels increased by 10, and now includes Nidoking and Mamoswine. However, since both of her newly added Pokemon are weak to Water type attacks, you can defeat Bertha similar to how you defeated her during the first rematch.

Use Gyarados Against Bertha

BDSP - Gyarados Against Mamoswine

Mamoswine, one of the newly added Pokemon to Bertha's team, is weak to Water type attacks, so you can take it down easily as long as you bring a Pokemon with Water type moves. It is highly recommended to use Gyarados against Bertha's team as it can also play a major role against the rest of the Elite Four rematches.
