A Charcoal can be obtained on Route 227. You need Rock Climb to access this area.

Increase Chances by using a Pokemon with Super Luck

We recommend bringing a Pokemon such as Absol, with the Super Luck Ability which increases the chance for Wild Pokemon to have a held item. Absol can also learn the move Thief to take the item from the opponent without the need of catching it. Just make sure Absol isn't holding any items beforehand.

You can get a Charcoal by catching any of the Pokemon listed above. All three Pokemon can be found in the Grand Underground.

The use of Thief or Covet can save you the hassle of weakening and catching them. These moves will directly steal the Charcoal if the Pokemon is holding one.
