The first in-game trade can be found in Oreburgh City and can be accessed before challenging the Oreburgh City Gym. The traded Abra has the move Teleport, which is useful when trying to escape caves and dungeons before you can purchase Escape Ropes in the Poke Mart.

In Eterna City, you can trade a Buizel for a Chatot, which could be useful in the upcoming Grass type Gym. It is also a great way of obtaining Chatot earlier in the game since its other locations appear much later in the story.

Trade Medicham for a Haunter in Snowpoint City

The final in-game trade during the main story is found in Snowpoint City, where a woman will trade her Haunter for a Medicham. Don't go thinking you can use this trade to obtain a free Gengar as the Haunter she gives you holds an Everstone, which prevents it from evolving.

In the post game, you can trade a Finneon for a Magikarp in Route 226 after obtaining the National Dex. The Magikarp you receive is unique since it is a German language Magikarp. After obtaining the Magikarp, the German Pokedex entry for Magikarp will be added to your Pokedex.
