Increase Chances by using a Pokemon with Super Luck

We recommend bringing a Pokemon such as Absol, with the Super Luck Ability which increases the chance for Wild Pokemon to have a held item. Absol can also learn the move Thief to take the item from the opponent without the need of catching it. Just make sure Absol isn't holding any items beforehand.

Catch Poliwhirl in Hideaways

Pokemon BDSP PoliwhirlPoliwhirl

Wild Poliwhirl have a chance to be found holding a King's Rock. Poliwhirl appears in hideways such as the Fountainspring Cave and the Grassland Cave once you earn the National Dex.

You may also find wild Poliwhirl while surfing or fishing on Route 225.

Effect An item to be held by a Pokemon. When the holder successfully inflicts damage, the target may also flinch.

Slowpoke will evolve into Slowking by trading it to another player while it is holding King's Rock.

When evolving trade evolutions, we recommend trading with someone you trust as your partner will need to trade the Pokemon back to you once it evolves.

King's Rock gives the user a chance to make its target flinch. This makes it an ideal item to give Togekiss and Cloyster.

Togekiss because it has access to the Ability Serene Grace which boosts the chances of a move's secondary effect occuring. Partnered with Air Slash which has a chance to make the opponent flinch and you have a high likelihood of making your target flinch.

Cloyster on the other hand has access to the Ability Skill Link which ensures that multi-hit moves hit five times. This means each hit will have a different chance of activating King's Rock.
