Does Mastery Increase Damage?

Some Mastered Abilities Raise Damage

Ability Mastery Effect
Downthrust Downthrust Imbues blade with fire, increasing ability potency and range.
Lunge Lunge Increases lunge distance. Ability potency increases with distance.
Blind Justice Blind Justice Increases number of lock-ons.
Stomp Stomp Increases maximum kicks to two.
Wings of Light Wings of Light Increases maximum Megaflare level to 4.
Arm of Darkness Arm of Darkness Increases maximum Zantetsuken level to 5.

The table above shows the only abilities that increase damage when mastered. Clive's abilities and Eikonic Feats don't have options for upgrading, unlike Eikon abilities, instead going straight to mastery. This is why mastering these abilities is best for improving damage.

All Eikonic Feats and How to Use

Mastered Eikon Abilites Can be Equipped on any Eikon

For most Eikon abilities, mastering lets you put the ability in another Eikon's ability slot. This opens up new combos to potentially raise damage output, as you're free to mix and match the abilities however you like. This doesn't apply to Eikonic Feats or Clive's abilities, as they cannot be interchanged with each other when mastered.
