Ring of Timely FocusRing of Timely Focus When equipped, time slows before an evadable enemy attack strikes Clive. No effect when equipped with the Ring of Timely Evasion.
Ring of Timely EvasionRing of Timely Evasion When equipped, Clive will automatically evade attacks, as long as the attack can be evaded.

Ring of Timely HealingRing of Timely Healing When equipped, Clive will automatically use a potion when his HP falls below a certain point. Potions will be used before high potions.

Both modes will give you Timely Accessories which can help make gameplay easier, but Story Focused mode automatically equips the Rings of Timely Focus and Timely Strikes. All, except for the Ring of Timely Assistance, are available at the start of the game. These can also be equipped or unequipped anytime for either mode.

Avoid Pairing the Rings of Timely Focus and Timely Evasion

Equipping the Ring of Timely Evasion will disable the effects of the Ring of Timely Focus as they are both evasion-based. It's best to only choose one of the two for combat.

Story Focused or Action Focused Mode?

Choose Action Focused Mode for More Freedom

Those who want to enjoy the combat of the game should pick Action Focused. This mode is also best suited for players experienced with action games. Timely Accessories can also be equipped if desired, and you can always change over to Story Focused later if it's too hard, so we recommend giving Action Focused mode a go first!

Combat Basics Guide

Choose Story Focused Mode if You Struggle With Combat

For those uncomfortable or struggling with combat, or if you only care to learn about the story, Story Focused is recommended. The automatically equipped Timely Accessories and weaker enemies should make combat a breeze.
