In Final Fantasy 16 (FF16), you'll be able to document the world's lore in the Thousand Tomes, a library managed by Harpocrates the loresman. Read on to find out more about what you can do, how to update the information in the Thousand Tomes, and the trophy you can achieve here!
The Thousand Tomes is the library of knowledge about the world of Valisthea, documented and managed by Harpocrates the loresman.
This knowledge involves all sorts of information, such as info about the nations of Valisthea, notable characters, the monsters of Valisthea including the Eikons, historical events, and more.
If you missed or you want to go back to any relevant info on the Active Time Lore during certain parts of the story, view them in the Thousand Tomes anytime.
The Thousand Tomes acts like an updatable in-game encyclopedia; it has a search function for topics, will suggest related topics to the entry you're currently viewing, and shows you progress about certain groups of topics.
This library is designed for people who are very interested about game lore as well as completionists who want to know how much progress they currently have.
Expand the Thousand Tomes by talking to Harpocrates. If you have progressed enough through the game, Clive will recount his adventures to Harpocrates, who then unlocks and updates the relevant subjects in the Thousand Tomes.
After you unlock a certain amount of info, your Wisdom stat will level up. Aside from your Thousand Tomes title changing (e.g. Amateur Annalist, Ravenous Reader) it is currently unknown what leveling up the Wisdom stat does or gives.
Harpocrates and the Thousand Tomes can be found in the game's central hub area, Cid's Hideaway, which is unlocked after progressing through the main quest, Hide, Hideaway.
