New Game Plus

FF16 - Ambition

Clearing the game for the first time unlocks New Game Plus which lets you experience the game all over again. However, you can carry over levels, gear, and abilities from the cleared save file to a New Game Plus file.

Final Fantasy Mode

Alongside New Game Plus, a harder difficulty called Final Fantasy Mode is unlocked upon beating the game.

This mode caps Clive's level to 100, allows for the crafting of the Ultima Weapon, and features tougher enemies. Final Fantasy Mode also has additional challenges in the Arete Stone, including Ultimaniac Mode and the Final Chronolith Trials.

These post game features will surely test your skills in combat and will reward you handsomely.

Maximize Your Level

It's best to push your level as high as possible to take on the harder challenges of the game. In Final Fantasy Mode, this is capped to level 100, which you'll likely need to beat all the additional trials in this mode.

It's possible to learn and master all the abilities in the game. Fully upgrading all abilities will not only help you immensely in combat but will also reward you with the Masterclass trophy.

Make sure to clear out any Side Quests while progressing through the main quest. There may be points in the game where these will become inaccessible later on, so it's best to finish them as soon as you get them!

Hunt Notorious Marks to earn gil and renown for the Patron's Whisper. Successfully clearing the Hunt Board also rewards the Hunter, Hunted trophy.

Final Fantasy 16 has several collectibles in the form of Curiosities which include Orchestrion rolls and items for the Wall of Memories. You can also collect crafting materials to forge powerful armor and weapons including the Gotterdammerung and Ultima Weapon.

In case you've missed any items or treasure coffers, the Arete Stone has a Stage Replay feature that lets you collect these missable items.

You can also clear out all seven of the challenging Chronolith Trials. These are replayable later through the Arete Stone. Prove your mastery of the game further with Arcade Mode and aim to for the top of the leaderboard!
