Beware of His Lunge Attacks

The Nine of Knives has a lot of attacks that can close the distance quickly. Especially dangerous is his spinning lunge attack, which is fast and deals a lot of damage.

Always be alert and be ready to dodge these attacks when he's a bit farther from you, since unlike special named moves, they're harder to anticipate.

Watch Out for the Pounce Attack after Smokescreen

Smokescreen is a special attack where the Nine of Knives will summon a smokescreen on your position, which will explode to deal damage moments after. The delay is long enough that you can easily walk out of the smoke and avoid the explosion without trouble.

Be careful though, since directly after the explosion, the Nine of Knives will do a pounce attack. It's also easily avoidable by walking; just walk sideways from the direction where he's facing.

Attack His Sides or Back During Poison Mist

For the Nine of Knives's Poison Mist special attack, he breathes out a poison mist in front of him for a few seconds. Getting hit by it will leave you lying down for a while, so make sure to not get hit!

When he starts the attack, run to his side or back to avoid it. Then, take advantage that he's stuck with the attack for a while to unleash your abilities on him!

Move Away from the Undermine Cloud to Avoid Getting Hit

During the Undermine special attack, the Nine of Knives burrows into the ground, becomes untargetable, and will move in a straight line in a smoke cloud towards your direction. After a while, he will pop out and attack, which will deal high damage to you if you get hit.

To avoid the attack, watch the smoke cloud, then move sideways from the straight line. After he pops out, he'll be vulnerable for a while, so rush in and attack him.

If the road is to be made safe again, then at least one traveler passing through the place must not flee, but stand and fight.
