Eikon Battles

FF16 - Eikon Battles

Once you play the game, you won't only play as Clive, but you'll be able to take part in battles between Eikons. Compared to normal combat as Clive, Eikon battles show massive numbers in terms of damage.

This gives players a cinematic combat experience when playing Final Fantasy 16.

Eikon Abilities

Claiming a portion of an Eikon's essence gives Clive access to new abilities and unlocks their Eikonic Feats. Using Eikon abilities gives Clive an advantage in combat, but it goes on a cooldown once used. Mix and match Eikon abilities to suit your combat experience!

You can equip up to 3 Eikons and change them when you're not in battle. Eikons can have 3 skills equipped, 1 is the Eikonic Feat which cannot be changed, and 2 abilities that can be replaced with other abilities.

Story and Action Focused Modes

Final Fantasy 16 is an Action RPG, unlike older entries in the series, and there are modes you can opt for if you're struggling with some parts of the game.

Story and Action Focused Modes Explained

Story Focused Mode

Enemies will have weaker attacks and lesser HP, making it easy for players to clear stages faster. Choosing this mode equips you with Timely Accessories that assist you in attacking and evading in fights.

All Timely Accessories and Effects

Action Focused Mode

Enemies here will have normal attacks and HP, giving players the intended experience when playing the game. The Timely Accessories are present in your inventory and can be equipped in case you are having difficulties in some parts of the combat.

Staggering Enemies

Reducing an enemy's will gauge will result in it being staggered. Attacks dealt to staggered enemies have increased damage, and stack a damage multiplier to further amplify your damage to it.

How to Stagger Enemies

Limit Break

Activating Limit Break enhances Clive's damage and defense. Attacking enemies during Limit Break also heals Clive. You can only Limit Break once you've filled your yellow gauge at the bottom of your HP bar when you attack or get attacked by enemies.

How to Use Limit Breaks Effectively

Commanding Torgal

Torgal, the best boy in all of Valisthea, assists Clive in combat by fighting alongside him and casting heals! Torgal can execute Precision Sics when timed right, dealing more damage to enemies.

The best part of all, you can pet Torgal!

Party Members

Party Members

As you progress through the game, you'll be accompanied by AI-Controlled allies that help fight alongside you in combat. Since they're controlled by an AI, you don't need to give them commands to help you, they fight enemies on their own.
