How to Use Shift Strike

Press Square During Phoenix Shift

Shift Strike
While shifting with PS4 - Circle Button, press PS4 - Square Button

Press Square while using Phoenix Shift to land a Shift Strike on the target. This can be followed up with a combo.

How to Use Shift Shot

Press Triangle During Phoenix Shift

Shift Shot
While shifting with PS4 - Circle Button, press PS4 - Triangle Button

Press Triangle during Phoenix Shift to deal a magicked shot on the target. Downed enemies can be lifted with this technique.

All Battle Techniques

Battle Techniques Description
Shift Strike Land a Shift Strike on the ground.
Aerial Shift Strike Land a Shift Strike in the air.
Shift Combo Complete a Combo on a single target after landing a Shift Strike.
Aerial Shift Combo Complete an Aerial Combo on a single target after landing a Shift Strike.
Shift Shot Land a Shift Shot on the ground.
Aerial Shift Shot Land a Shift Shot in the air.
Lifting Shift Shot Lift a downed enemy into the air with a Shift Shot.

Phoenix Shift is an Eikonic Feat that can close in on a target. This is as a default ability of the Eikon Phoenix but can be upgraded later on. Aside from Shift Strike and Shift Shot, other battle techniques can be done during or after shifting which can rack up damage and awards bonus points in Arcade Mode.

Unlock Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeift Trophy

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeift Bronze Trophy
FF16 - Silver Trophy Land 15 Shift Strikes or Shift Shots combined (excluding battles in Hall of Virtue).

To get the Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeift trophy, you only need to land Shift Strikes or Shift Shots a total of 15 times. This should be fairly easy to get, especially against bosses, since you can repeatedly use Phoenix Shift after landing hits.
