Description: Vivian succeeds in piercing together the puzzle of Hugo's disappearance—his Waloeder allies carried him across the Velkroy Desert to his home in the heart of Drake's Fanng, where he remains to this day. Clive and Byron waste no time in giving chase.

FINAL FANTASY 16 - Riddles of the Sand Unlock

Riddle of the Sands starts after completing your preparations in the Bolts from the Blue quest and teleporting to the Velkroy Desert. You will be with Byron and Torgal throughout this quest!

Quest Objectives

# Riddle of the Sands Objectives

Make for the Dalimil Inn
Go to the Dalimil Inn to rest and find info on Kupka's whereabouts. You will encounter a few enemies on the way, but you can continue going your way and ignore them.

Defeat the royalists
Your meal will be interrupted by four royalist soldiers. Defeat them and make for Drake's Fang.

Make for Drake's Fang
Head straight to the south gate after leaving the inn. However, you'll see that the gate is closed, and the only road to Drake's Fang is blocked.

Speak with the townspeople
Speak with the villagers to find a way to get past the gate. You can find one, a merchant, on the left side of the gate.

You can find the next one in a stall. Talk to her and head to the opposite side of her location, near the river.

You will see a Riverboat Captain near the small dock. Talk to him, and he will refer you to a person named Ferda.

Speak with Ferda
Go back to the streets and talk to Ferda by the bathhouse. He will tell you then to meet up in a secluded area nearby.

Defeat the Bandits
You got set up (as usual) by Ferda, but it is only to test your capabilities. Defeat all the bandits in the area to progress.

Complete Follow the Crystals (Subquest)
You will reach the Briar's Kiss, where L'ubor, aka "Ruvena" is residing. He needs help solving the case about the missing crystals.

Complete it, and he will take care of the closed road for you afterward!

Make for Drake's Fang
After fulfilling L'ubor's request, go through the south gate and head for Drake's Fang. Byron won't be accompanying you after this; it means you and Torgal will be alone after this mission.

Enter Drake's Fang
Drake's Fang will be available on the map once you get close to it. You can teleport once you're ready!

Follow the Crystals Walkthrough

# Follow the Crystals Objectives
1a
Speak with the townspeople
Gather information about the missing crystals by asking the townspeople. You can find the closest one behind the Briar's Kiss, outside the settlement.

The second one is tending to the Chocobo in the stable. His location should be close to the marker on the map.

You can find the last one on the bridge. Speak with her then find Byron after that.

Find Byron
Go back to the inn and talk to the lady blocking the door. She will inform you that Byron is somewhere on the second floor.

You will find him talking to a soldier who seems to be making a deal related to the crystals.

Rendezvous with the soldiers in the desert
Go east to the meet-up place where the transaction will take place. It will be outside of the town, meaning you'll encounter some enemies on the way.

Defeat the Soldiers
Defeat the soldiers after obtaining enough information on them. L'ubor will appear after the fight is over, completing the quest.
