How to Beat Svarog, Ruin Reawakened

Boss Tips

Study Its Three Main Abilities Since it Combines them with Other Attacks

The Ruin Reawakened has three main special moves that it uses: Blazing Legion, Red Dawn, and Embroil. These special moves are fine to evade on their own, but Svarog will always combine them with its regular attacks making avoiding damage harder.

When Svarog reaches lower HP, it uses Last Dance, where it casts these special moves in quick succession with each other. Combined with the regular attacks, it makes the second phase of the battle even more difficult!

Blazing Legion

When Blazing Legion is used, the Ruin Reawakened summons a cluster of floating fireballs that will damage you when touched. It shouldn't be too hard to traverse through these fireballs, since they move slowly and the gaps between each other are forgiving enough.

Additionally, Svarog will fire down a laser at the ground that will create an explosion. Avoid this by running to the side while keeping an eye out for the fire balls, but be careful not to get caught against the walls of the area

Red Dawn

When Red Dawn is used, Svarog summons two pulsing fire pillars that moves forward and converges after a while. If the fire pillars are far away you can simply move sideways to avoid it, but if you're near the converging range it might be better to move forward toward Svarog.

Embroil

When Embroil is used, Svarog summons a falling fireball that becomes a fire ring that grows outwards, which after a certain size then becomes a cluster of fire circles that explode shortly after. It repeats this attack once.

To avoid this attack, run as far as possible from the falling fireball, then dodge at the right time when the fire ring reaches you. After that, if you've ran far enough from the fire cluster you don't have to worry about it; otherwise, there are spaces between the fire circles that you'll be safe in. Remember that it will repeat this attack once after, so be prepared.

Beware Its Swing Attack When Melee Attacking

When you manage to reach Svarog at close range, always attack it from the sides or back since many of its attacks deal damage in front. However, it has a spinning swing attack that it sometimes uses, which deals a huge amount of damage around it.

Just always be vigilant and be ready to dodge the swing attack when you're attacking Svarog at close range.

Utilize Will o' the Wykes's Absorption Effect

Description
Summon a storm of fireballs that circle about Clive, damaging nearby targets, while also absorbing damage.
Ability Cooldown 35 seconds

Being hit during a battle with the Ruin Reawakened is dangerous, which makes a mastered Ifrit's Will o' the Wykes very useful for this battle.

Will o' the Wykes nullifies four attacks when mastered; use it for insurance whenever you want to approach Svarog.

Have a Last Elixir Ready

Last Elixir is a consumable item that you'll unlock at Charon's Toll after progressing through the story, and it will automatically recover your health to full when it reaches zero. It's a good idea to have this item as insurance, since the battle gets exceptionally more difficult when the boss reaches lower HP.

Description
Sanbrequois legend tells of a dread dragon who set near half the realm alight with his torrid breath, before being sealed away behind a magical mist—by Greagor Herself, some sources claim. Thought it has long been forgotten which parts of the tale are true and which are mere myth, recent reports of a great dragon's roar reverberating around the woodland passes of the empire are real enough.
