Complete The Root of the Problem

FF16 - The Root of the Problem Rewards

Upon opening the main quest After the Storm, the side quest The Root of the Problem becomes available at The Hideaway. Talk to Nigel the Head Botanist to get this quest. When finishing this quest, the player will receive the Morganbeard Extract to increase potency.

To obtain the next potion potency upgrade, the Please Sir, Can I have Some Morbol side quest must be done. This quest is unlocked in the main quest A Song of Hope. Players will receive the potion potency upgrade item Invigorated Morganbeard Extract as a reward!

Increase Potion Potency with Accessories

Accessory Effect / How to Get
FF16 - ClericCleric's Medallion Increases healing potency of potions by 20%
Defeat Chirada for the first time during the "Louder Than Words" main quest.
· Complete Louder than Words
FF16 - High ClericHigh Cleric's Medallion Increases healing potency of high potions by 25%.
Reward from the "A Light from the Heavens" donation at the Patron's Whisper for reaching 715 Renown.

Equipping these accessories increases the healing potency of potions and high potions. Note that the healing potency from accessories does not add to the current potency.

The base potency of potions is 20% of your max health. If you equip a Cleric's Medallion, which increases healing potency of potions by 20%, you don't heal a total of 40% max health, instead you'll heal 24% of your max HP.

After obtaining the quest items Morganbeard Extract and Invigorated Morganbeard Extract, potions can heal an increased amount of HP and the tonics have extended durations.

The potion upgrades and accessories stack potency. After a fight, equip accessories that increase potion or high potion healing potency and then consume a potion. Re-equip the accessories you had before venturing forth.
