The Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) demo is currently available to download on the PlayStation 5 as of June 12, 2023. Its release date and times were announced during the Pre-Launch Celebration Livestream held on June 11th, 2023.

Note that a player's demo prologue save data can carry over to the base game, so demo story progress won't be naught once the full game releases.

The FF16 Demo is Two Hours Long

The Final Fantasy XVI Demo covers the first two hours of the game. These opening hours, or the Prologue, will familiarize players with the new battle mechanics, the world of Valisthea, as well as the beginnings of Clive and his allies.

The demo also introduces players to the main cast of characters that will join Clive throughout the game, such as Joshua, Jill, and Torgal.

Unlock Eikonic Challange Mode After Completing the Prologue

The Eikonic Challenge Mode will be playable after completing the Prologue to get a feel of how combat works in the later stages of the game, including previews of Eikonic Abilities available to Clive.

Download Through the PlayStation Store

Players can now download the Final Fantasy 16 demo through the PlayStation Store.

This can be done by accessing the PlayStation Store through their PlayStation 5 and searching Final Fantasy XVI. From there, an option to download the demo will be available and can be booted up immediately after the download finishes.

FF16 Demo File Size

Demo File Size is 18.6 GB

The demo file size of Final Fantasy XVI is 18.6 GB, which is significantly less compared to its predecessor's demo file size of 21 GB.
