Final Fantasy 16 (FF16) allows you to both skip and rewatch cutscenes. Read on to find out how to skip and rewatch cutscenes, as well as the total cutscene length!

How to Skip Cutscenes

Press the Options Button and Hold Triangle During a Cutscene

You can skip a cutscene by pressing the Options button on the controller, then holding the Triangle button. Instead of the normal menu, it will simply show a pause screen, with the Skip and Active Time Lore buttons at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Active Time Lore is a feature for some cutscenes where you'll be able to read about information such as the characters, nation, and story development involved in the cutscene.

Major Cutscenes Cannot Be Skipped

There are some major cutscenes that can't be skipped at all. You'll know this is the case if the pause screen doesn't show a Skip button at the bottom right of the screen.

Credits Roll Can Be Fast-Forwarded

The credits roll after the ending cannot be skipped. However, you can hold X to fast-forward though them.

Can You Rewatch Cutscenes?

No Way to Just Rewatch Cutscenes

The short answer is that there is no feature that allows you to just rewatch cutscenes. This means that you'll need to either play through the game again, or look up the video elsewhere to view something you missed!

Use Stage Replay to Rewatch Some Cutscenes

If you make use of Stage Replay, you can rewatch the cutscenes of stages you've already viewed. While this won't allow you too see all cutscenes, this mode does allow you to rewatch some of them.

Use the Arete Stone, which is found in Cid's Hideaway in order to access both Stage Replay and Replay Mode.

According to FF16's game producer in interviews, of the 35 hours to beat the game story, 11 hours is dedicated to story cutscenes. This estimate don't include battle cutscenes and sidequest cutscenes.
