Details and Use Cases

Recommended Use
- Guard is maintained indefinitely while ○ is held.
- Movement is possible while guarding, however movement speed is reduced.
- Blocking attacks with Titanic Block fills the Limit Break gauge.
- Titanic Block cannot block certain powerful attacks.

Executing Titanic Block at the exact moment of an enemy's attack is called a Precision Block.
- Immediately after executing a Precision Block, □ can be pressed to deliver up to 3 powerful counters.

Titanic Block is unlocked by gaining the power of Titan during the quest, Bolts from the Blue. You may need to complete or encounter a certain story section in order to unlock this ability.

Have Titan Equipped and Press Circle

Use to Block Incoming Attacks

Titanic Block is used to block incoming attacks and negate their damage. This Eikonic Feat has no cooldown and can be used consecutively or keep active for as long as you want.

However, take note that not all attacks are blockable, and Titanic Block has a limit on how much it can protect you.

How to Do Titanic Counters

Press Square After a Precision Block

Activating Titanic Block right before an attack hits triggers a Precision Block. This triggers a unique slow-mo animation that can also give additional points in Arcade Mode.

After doing a Precision Block, quickly press the attack button to perform a Titanic Counter and deal heavy damage to your attacker. This can be done up to three times after each Precision Block.

Titanic Block Unlockable Trophies

Untouchable - Block 10 Attacks

Untouchable Bronze Trophy
FF16 - Silver Trophy Use Titanic Block to defend off 10 enemy attacks (excluding battles in Hall of Virtue).

Successfully blocking ten enemy attacks using Titanic Block unlocks the Untouchable trophy achievement! Blocks that aren't registered as "Precision Blocks" will still count so you can just keep the Eikonic Feat up until you defend against the required number of attacks.

Beat Rocking Blocks - Land 2 Titanic Counter 3s in One Battle

Beat Rocking Blocks Bronze Trophy
FF16 - Silver Trophy Land the third punch of a Titanic Counter twice in a single battle (excluding battles in Hall of Virtue).

Landing Titanic Counter 3, or the third counterattack after a Precision Block, twice in a single battle unlocks the Beat Rocking Blocks trophy achievement.
