How to Beat White Dragon

Step-by-Step Guide

Anticipate and Dodge AoE Attacks

FF16 - Anticipate AoE Attacks

The White Dragon utilizes the element of ice to launch a series of AoE offensive skills ranging from breathing out icicles in an area, doing 360 spin attacks, and can take up to the skies to plunge the battle zone with several forms of ice lasers.

Due to the large area of effect that these abilities can reach, it's advisable to use the Phoenix Shift Eikonic Feat to dash away aside from basic dodges to increase your chances of surviving these devastating attacks.

Use Phoenix Shift to Evade Elemental Orbs and Arrows

FF16 - Use Phoenix Shift to Evade Elemental Skills

One of the dragon's unique skill is Heavenly Twinning which sees it casting out five ice orbs that will slowly drift towards you, followed by a hail of ice arrows.

You may not have enough time to evade the latter, so instead of using the basic dodge skill, use Phoenix Shift to get to a safer distance.

Avoid Stepping on the Lines During Holy Twinning

Once you see vertical lines forming up on the ground, avoid stepping on them as these will spring out ice-like flames after a short amount of time that can damage you when hit. You can either stay in-between two lines to avoid them or simply run away from the area of where it's forming up on.

Dodge Through the Ice Beams to Negate Damage

As soon as you bring the dragon's HP in half, it will begin summoning several spectral forms of ice that will shoot out beams in various directions. You can dodge through them as they approach you to avoid taking damage but do take note that you'll have to dodge a second time as these have the tendency to slowly rotate back at you.

Focus on Damaging Its Head

Try to focus all your efforts in damaging the White Dragon's head as this is its most vulnerable spot as seen by the yellow damage output when hitting it.

Reaching it can be a bit difficult so try utilizing Clive's abilities such as the Wicked Wheel or Eikonic Feats like the Deadly Embrace to get a short boost up in the air.
