The Hand of Hyperion Stage Guides

Stage 1

Trial Stage Tips

Use Rising Flames as a Finishing Blow

FF16 - Rising Flames

Using Rising Flames to defeat an enemy gives you at least 12 more seconds on the clock for doing the Rising Finish technique. Try to lower the enemies' HP first before using Rising Flames to finish them off.

Use Scarlet Cyclone When Surrounded

FF16 - Scarlet Cyclone

You can get a different time bonus by using Scarlet Cyclone and hitting at least two enemies. To also maximize the damage, use this ability when you're surrounded.

Stage 2

Trial Stage Tips

Dispel Projectiles With Heatwave

Rising Flames will be replaced with Heatwave in this stage, which you can use to dispel and counter enemy projectiles. You can gain a 12-second time bonus for doing this, and will reduce Heatwave's cooldown drastically.

Stage 3

Trial Stage Tips

Defeat the Firebound Bugs With Flames of Rebirth

FF16 - Flames of Rebirth

As soon as the fight starts, use Flames of Rebirth to wipe out the Firebound Bugs, allowing you to focus on the Firebound Mouse for the most part.

You can then use this skill again on the next waves where multiple normal enemies show up or when a formidable foe is staggered to get a 15-second time bonus.

Use Heatwave on the Formidable Foes' Projectiles

Using Heatwave to dispel the projectiles of formidable foes deals heavy damage to both their HP and Will gauge. On top of that, this will reduce the ability's cooldown and give you a time bonus.

Final Stage: Firebound Blight

Trial Stage Tips

No Time Bonuses Can Be Obtained

FF16 - The Hand of Hyperion final stage

You won't be able to get time bonuses from techniques in the final stage and will have to finish it with all the time you accumulated from the first three stages. Use your abilities efficiently and try to have both of them up once the Firebound Blight is staggered.

Same Attack Patterns as Ahriman

Firebound Blight will have the exact same attack patterns as the Notorious Mark Ahriman.

Since you don't have access to Heatwave in this stage, you'll just have to dodge through its homing orbs as well as the follow up eye beam. Firebound Blight can also cast Quake, which you should focus dodging on before attacking again.

How to Beat Ahriman and Rewards

The Hand of Hyperion General Tips

Trial By Fire Tips

Avoid Blindly Using Your Abilities

You will only be given 1 minute and 20 seconds at the beginning of the trial, and it is one of your objective to get time bonuses so you can reach the final stage and still have sufficient time to complete it.

Executing the battle techniques shown at the beginning of each stage is what will make this possible, so carefully read their conditions and make sure to complete as much techniques as you can with the abilities given instead of just spamming them.

Spam Shift Combo for Easy Time Bonuses

FF16 - Shift Combo

Among all the technique bonuses, Shift Combo is the easiest to pull off. Simply using Phoenix Shift and completing a four-hit melee combo right after gives you an 8-second time bonus.

Spam this technique while your abilities are on cooldown to accumulate more time for the final stage!
