The Hand of Rhea Stage Guides

Stage 1

Trial Stage Tips

Inflict Permafrost as much as you can

Permafrost is a good way to control the fight while also adding 8 seconds to the trial. Always go for this ability to make it easier to wipe out enemies. To make it easier to execute, we suggest equipping the Ring of Timely Focus.

Use the Rime + Mesmerize combo

This combo will have you place a Rime by the enemies then positioning yourself close to it before using Mesmerize. This will pull the enemies in the crystal that will help you damage as much enemies as possible.

Stage 2

Trial Stage Tips

Use the Mesmerize + Ice Age combo

Start the combo by pulling enemies in with Mesmerize then use Ice Age to do collateral damage. This is an ideal combo that can take out almost all enemies.

Execute a perfectly charged Ice Age to get a time bonus

Perfectly charging Ice Age will not only deal significant damage, but will also add 12 seconds to the trial. To do this, charge the Ice Age by holding down the button it's assigned to and let go when the indicator gets into the red zone.

Stage 3

Trial Stage Tips

Permafrost first before executing Diamond Dust

Before using your Diamond Dust, make sure to Permafrost them first. This will maximize your openings, which will allow you to deal more damage.

Final Stage: Icebound Necrophobe

Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) - Final Stage Trial by Ice Icebound Necrophobe

Trial Stage Tips

No time bonuses can be obtained

You won't be able to get time bonuses from techniques in the final stage and will have to finish it with all the time you accumulated from the first three stages. Use your abilities efficiently and try to have both of them up once the Icebound Necrophobe is staggered.

Same attack patterns as Necrophobe

Icebound Necrophobe will have the exact same attack patterns as the boss, Necrophobe.

Always try and go for a Permafrost before anything else. This will stop it in its tracks, providing you a better opening to unleash your combos. When your Diamond Dust is up, always use this as a follow-up after Permafrost to greatly chunk its stagger meter. Setup Rime once it's frozen in its place to get additional damage in.

How to Beat Necrophobe

The Hand of Rhea General Tips

Trial by Ice Tips

Equip Ring of Timely Focus to better execute Permafrost

The Ring of Timely Focus will help you execute an easier Permafrost. Think of Permafrost as your substitute in Precision Dodging!

All Timely Accessories and Effects

Mesmerize is best used against enemies surrounding you

Pull in enemies with Mesmerize before executing your combos. This will ensure maximum damage and will usually thin out the mob, which helps in evening the odds.

Always execute a perfectly charged Ice Age

Always try and execute a perfectly charged Ice Age to prolong your time. This helps in accumulating more time for the final stage of the trial.
