Description
Summon a projectile-dispelling wall of liquid flame before launching several deadly shockwaves. Wave force is amplified upon dispelling magic.

- Dispelling an enemy projectile increases the number of subsequent shockwaves, as well as shortens ability cooldown by 33%.
- Shockwave direction can be adjusted with following execution.

Heatwave is unlocked by gaining the power of Phoenix during the quest, Sunrise, Sunset. You may need to complete or encounter a certain story section in order to unlock this ability.

How to Use Heatwave Counters

Counter Projectiles

Using Heatwave right before an enemy projectile hits will execute a Heatwave Counter that will empower the wave force of this ability. The projectile will also be dispelled and grants Clive immunity to damage during the duration of the ability.

Clive can learn and upgrade Abilities by spending Ability Points (AP) obtained through enemy combat and through completion of Main Quests, Side Quests, or even Hunt Board Quests.

Heatwave Unlockable Trophy

Unlock Packing Heat Trophy Achievement

Packing Heat Bronze Trophy
FF16 - Silver Trophy Execute and land 2 Heatwave Counters in a single battle (excluding those in Hall of Virtue).

To obtain the Packing Heat bronze trophy, Clive must counter and deflect with Heatwave at least two times. It is recommended to keep your distance and wait for the opponent to shoot a projectile so you can time Heatwave easier.
