Description: Gav has been tracking the one the citizens of Lostwing believed to be a Dominant of Fire—the same man who reduced Caer Norvent to cinders—and sends word to Cid that he has picked up the scent of their quarry. However, it seems the forces of Sanbreque are also on Gav's trail, as en route to rendezvous with him at the Kingsfall, Cid and Clive hear the unmistakable sound of an imperial hunting whistle. They split up and race to his rescue.

How to Unlock

You can start The Hunter and the Hunted after steeling your resolve and teleporting to the Kingsfall during The Wages of Guilt quest. You will start off with only Torgal in your party, but you'll eventually meet up with Cid as you progress.

Quest Objectives

#	The Hunter and the Hunted Objectives
1a	Rendezvous with Gav Gav is still diligently gathering information for the sake of Clive. Find him, bring him home, and relieve him from this task. You can always use Animal Instinct if you don't know where to go next!
1b	You will face a bunch of Black Widows as you look for Gav. Defeat them all to get to the next area.
2	Slay Minotaur A Minotaur will appear through the woods as you venture deep into the forest. Give it some beating and move on to the next area! ▶ How to Beat Minotaur
3	You will encounter more Black Widows and Hornets along the way. Keep moving until you reach a wooden bridge after dealing with the monsters.
4	Slay another Minotaur You will encounter one more Minotaur on the way, but there will be other monsters helping it this time. Kill everyone and continue looking for Gav. ▶ How to Beat Minotaur
5	You will see Gav being hunted down by Imperial Soldiers once you get to the wooden bridge. Follow them and save Gav from danger.
6	Defeat Knight of the Dying Sun There will be two powerful enemies, the Knight of the Dying Sun and Imperial War Aevis that will try to stop you from progressing. Luckily, Cid has caught up with you, helping and forcing a 2-on-2 battle against the enemies. Cid will focus on dealing with the Imperial War Aevis, and you can put your attention on the Knight of the Dying Sun. ▶ How to Beat Knight of the Dying Sun
7	Go to the Hideaway and visit the Infirmary Teleport to the Hideaway after meeting and saving Gav. Visit the infirmary afterward as it seems Jill has woken up from her slumber.
8	Speak with Charon Clive and Jill have decided to visit Phoenix Gate in Rosaria to find out the truth. Make your preparations by checking out Charon's stall. You can use this chance to sell or buy weapons or gear from her before leaving! You can continue with the quest by closing the menu.
9	Speak with Gav After talking to Charon, look for Gav in the same area and thank him for all his help. You can still roam around the Hideaway, check out new gear or weapons, do Side Quests, and more, after this.
10	Journey into Rosaria via Three Reeds Once you're done with your preparation, fast travel to Three Reeds to get to Rosaria, and into the Phoenix Gate.

How to Beat Minotaur

Minotaur is a new monster making its debut on this quest. It's slower than normal monsters and soldiers, but its attacks hit heavy and it has a lot of HP.

Tips for Beating

• Evade charge attack at all cost
• Swing attacks are easy to dodge and parry
• Exploit its slow speed and unleash flurry of attacks

The Hunter and the Hunted Boss: How to Beat Knight of the Dying Sun

Boss Overview

Knight of the Dying Sun is similar to Knight of the Blinding Dawn in terms of attacks, except it has a special move called Mirage Dive. It will be a 2-on-2 battle, but you can focus on him as Cid will take care of the Imperial War Aevis.

Tips for Beating

• Move away from Cid and Imperial War Aevis
• Dodge Mirage Dive and wait for Cid to counter
• Evade or parry basic sword attacks
• Avoid getting hit by Jump or Double Jump
