How to Beat Benedikta (Human Form)

Step-by-Step Guide

First Phase Overview

FF16 - Benedikta Human Form

For the first segment of the battle, you'll be going up against Benedikta's human form which should be a quick and easy fight as her basic attacks are extremely predictable and she won't really be boasting a huge amount of HP.

In addition, she'll only have access to a few abilities such as Aerora, Aeroga, and occassionally Wind Blade.

Parry Her Attacks

FF16 - Parry Benedikta

Benedikta's moves are easy to follow during this phase as she'll enter a charging animation before hitting you. Just as she's about to strike you, press Basic Attack (Square) to parry her so you can get her off guard and deal more damage afterwards.

How to Parry Attacks

Avoid the Lines on the Ground During Wind Blade

FF16 - Wind Blade

Keep an eye out on the floor for three vertical lines during Wind Blade. You don't need to hit the dodge button for these as you can just use the L Stick to reposition yourself away from the direction of where she's sending these out.

Phoenix Shift Once You Get Knocked Away

After spamming your combos at her for a certain amount of time, eventually she'll knock you back several feet away from her, use your Phoenix Shift to get close to her again.

Alternatively, you can also use Lunge to close the distance and get within her vicinity.

Second Phase Overview

FF16 - Second Phase Eikon Form

The second half of the fight sees Benedikta entering her Eikon form and call upon Garuda's power. While she's in this form, she'll be able to cast out more abilities as well as empowering the previous ones that you saw during her human form.

Her HP and defense will also be beefed up while she's in this state so be prepared for a long and tough battle!

Successfully Execute Quick Time Events

FF16 - Execute Quick Time Events

Quick Time Events are the best way to easily stagger Benedikta during the fight. You'll be having a difficult time breaking her Will the by normal attacks so hit those cinematic clashes to knock her out and execute your combos at her to quickly deplete her HP.

Use Rising Flames and Scarlet Cyclone while she's immobile to deal massive damage!

Quick Time Events Guide

Evade Blue Markers When She's Nosediving

Occassionally, she'll leap towards the air and slam the ground near you, this is indicated by the blue light on the ground so dash away once you see this.

Run Around During Aero Rain

Benedikta will fly up in the sky and circle around while hurling multiple balls of energy at you. Run around in a counterclockwise motion (or dodge) and you should be fine.

Use Dodge on the Third Aerial Slash

Aerial Slash is an upgraded and stronger version of Wind Blade. Instead of vertical slashes coming up at you as previously seen in her human form, she'll also be launching three horizontal slashes afterwards.

Save up your dodge for the third slash as the first two could easily be avoided by running sideways. Sometimes she'll also hurl up an energy ball at you at the end so be on the lookout for that one too!

Avoid Getting Caught in Deadly Embrace

FF16 - Deadly Embrace

Benedikta will reach out and grab you with Garuda's claws during Deadly Embrace and use Twister on you — an ability that unleashes several claw attacks at you. Try not to get caught in this as you'll lose a huge portion of your health.

Tornadoes Can Explode Towards the End of the Battle

FF16 - Tornado Explosions

Once you deal enough damage to Benedikta, she'll be able to cast out multiple tornadoes around which will explode after a short period of time, so stay on your guard, dodge, and stay away from these.
