The Eikonic Challenge Mode Guide is a special content only available in the demo version of Final Fantasy XVI (FF16). Find out how to unlock this demo-exclusive, how to complete it, and more about Eikonic Challenge Mode with this guide!
List of Contents
Eikonic Challenge Mode is automatically unlocked after completing all the main quests in the demo. After the last chapter in the demo, a new option for this mode will be added at the bottom of the title menu screen.
Demo Release Date and What to Expect
Eikonic Challenge Mode is a special content only available in the demo version of the game. Although the events, gear, and abilities available in this mode are also included in the full game, certain adjustments are made to improve gameplay experience.
The chapter selected for the Eikonic Challenge Mode is set several hours into the story, where you can see Clive in his thirties with an adult Torgal already allied with the rebel leader Cid.
Benedikta also mentioned before the final battle that it was the second time Clive defeated her "sisters", implying that Benedikta was already encountered way before this chapter chosen for the Eikonic Challenge Mode.
Players will also be given access to three Eikons in Eikonic Challenge Mode: Phoenix, Garuda, and Titan.
Several other abilities are also unlocked in the Abilities screen, allowing for a better experience of the game's exciting battle system and opportunity to test out possible combos with different Eikons!
Gameplay & Battle System Guide
A special set of equipment called Timely Accessories are also available in Eikonic Challenge Mode. These can make combat easier for those still getting used to the controls or those who just want to focus on mastering Eikon combos.
Timely Accessories are also included in the full game, and are automatically enabled when choosing the Story Focused difficulty.
As the events and features in Eikonic Challenge Mode are far from what is available in the demo, progress made here won't be carried over to the full game.
Addiitonally, the manual save, autosave, and load functions are all disabled in this mode, so if you want to replay certain battles, you'll have to select Eikonic Challenge Mode again in the title menu and start over from the beginning.
