How to Beat Flan Prince

Boss Tips

Watch Out for the Fast Jump Attack After Its Special Attacks

Flan Prince has a number of elemental special attacks: Firaga, Stonega, Tornado, and Blizzaga. Whenever it finishes casting any of these attacks, it will quickly do a fast jump attack towards you after.

Always watch when it finishes these attacks, and take an opportunity to parry it or use a precision dodge for a counterattack!

Avoid its Hands Down Attack, Which Deals a Lot of Damage

Flan Prince's most damaging attack is its Hands Down attack, which deals massive damage for every hit. Its pattern is a one-hand smash, quickly followed by a two-hand smash, followed by a big jump smash attack after a brief pause.

If you get hit by the first part, you'll be vulnerable for the following barrage, which might deplete your HP from full to almost zero at lower levels! Start keeping your distance or getting ready to dodge before the first attack starts.

Titanic Block is a Very Useful Ability to Mitigate Damage

If you're having difficulty dodging Flan Prince's attacks, you can use Titanic Block instead! It doesn't have a cooldown, so use it freely and frequently to mitigate most of the damage.
How to Use Titanic Block

Wait for Projectile Opening to Unleash Abilities

A good opportunity to attack and unleash abilities on it is when it's using its slow projectile attacks. Take your time and wait for an opening since its other sets of moves have different timings when you try to dodge them.

Description
Rumor is spreading throughout the southern reaches of Rosaria of a pool of opalescent ooze that has been sighted in the moors and meadows of the region. While it resembles naught but a puddle of strange sludge from a distance, any man or beast that draw too close is met with masses of slimy hands that drag their prey into a gaping, grinning maw. Is this what we want for our children?

I found I had to first complete the "Bolts from the Blue" and begin "Riddle of the Sands" main quest prior to Flan Prince Spawning, in case anyone else is wondering.
