How to Beat Liquid Flame

Step-by-Step Guide

Attack its Head After Fiery Impact

The Liquid Flame's main weakness is the head, and due to its high mobility, it'll be hard to take the time to launch yourself in the air to attack it.

One great tip is to wait for the Fiery Impact ability in which it will dash towards you and slam the ground, afterwards it will take it's time to recover in a kneeling position. Take advantage by landing a few hits, then Phoenix Shift away before it regains its footing.

Stagger the Boss Then Damage the Head With Combos

Stagger the boss by completely draining its Will Gauge to zero, then use this time to hurl out your abilities and by switching to different Eikons to unleash different combos at it!

Best Combos for Early to Late Game

Learn the Timing of Attack Patterns

Due to its vast arsenal of abilities and basic attacks ranging from fiery punches, teleportations, and AoE skills, you'll have understand the timing of its attack patterns during combos as some follow-up attacks are slower than the previous one.

One combo sees the boss quickly stomping you twice, then will slowly charge up to dash towards you. It'll be hard to ward off its attacks by parrying, so you'll have to utilize your dodging skill during this fight.

Keep on the Lookout For Its Dash Attack

FF16 - Keep on the Lookout For Its Dash Attack

It will usually dash after swinging a few punches or stomping the ground with its feet. You can easily fall prey to this if you don't know the timing as it'll charge up for a few seconds and dash at you without any indicator or wind up animation.

Equip the Ring of Timely Evasion

If you're having a difficult time familiarizing yourself with the timing of its moves, consider equipping the Ring of Timely Evasion which will greatly provide assistance by automating dodges for you.

Use Ranged Attacks When it Transforms to a Dragon

Once the Liquid Flame transforms into a dragon, it'll take up to the skies and you won't be able to hit it as it will breathe out fire on the ground while flying towards you. Use your ranged attacks while it's up in the air until he transforms back to its original state.

Avoid Getting Hit by Its Clones

It can create multiple clones of itself during the Eleventh Hour ability, spawning several dragons and encircling you. Each dragon will lunge towards you one-by-one so be sure to Precision Dodge all of them to avoid taking heaps of damage.
