How to Beat Titan

Step-by-Step Guide

Parry and Dodge Attacks

Titan's moves are incredibly slow and predictable so you can easily fend off his attacks and counter them for the first phase of the battle. He'll be using Geocrush and a bunch of other basic attacks in which he'll mostly slam his fists on the ground.

Observe his attack patterns then once you familiarize yourself with his movements, try to parry him by pressing the Attack Button (Square) at the exact moment his attack lands at you to deflect it, slowing down time and leaving him vulnerable for a few seconds, allowing you to deal decent damage to him.

Alternatively, you can dodge instead if you can't get the timing of parrying well. If you managed to precision dodge, launch a counterattack by pressing Attack after successfully evading one of his offensive skills.

Avoid the Blue Crystals on the Ground

Once he uses the Voice of the Land ability, you'll be staggered for a brief moment, then several blue crystals will appear from the ground, indicated by an aura which glows blue on the areas they'll emerge from. You'll only have a few seconds to react after regaining your footing.

Use Brimstone to Become Invulnerable

FF16 - Use Brimstone to Become Invulnerable

At some point of the battle, the Titan will leap back on top of a ledge and throw a large unavoidable boulder at you. You'll learn Brimstone during this in which you can activate by pressing R2 + Square and holding it to prolong the ability to become invulnerable to the incoming attack.

Execute Quick Time Events

FF16 - Execute Quick Time Events

After depleting its health, a Quick Time Event will occur to conclude the first phase of the battle. Press the appropriate buttons during the cinematic clashes all the while watching the breathtaking fight cutscenes.

Stay Away from the Crystals on the Walls

FF16 - Stay Away from the Crystals on the Walls

After its brief stint as the Titan Lost, it will revert back to its regular form and you'll fight it while falling through a debris. While the moves are exactly the same as the first phase, Earthshaker will now be used on the walls on either side, so once you see the Titan sticking its hands on a particular wall, move away from it as crystals will jut out of it.

How to Beat Titan Lost

Step-by-Step Guide

Destroy Boulders With Fireball

As you run through the canyon, the Titan Lost will constantly toss electrified rocks at you which you can destroy using Fireball (Triangle). You'll also need to evade the rock obstacles in the canyon itself by moving left or right.

Evade Blue Crystals on the Tendrils

FF16 - Evade Blue Crystals on the Tendrils

Once you get on its tendrils, avoid the blue crystals emerging underneath it by either dodging or jumping over it. Giant electrified rocks will still be thrown at you during this so you'll have to keep shooting fireballs at them.

Keep doing this until a cinematic clash between you and one of its tendrils will occur in which you'll redirect the tendril towards the Titan after successfully executing the QTE.

Keep an Eye Out for Red Electricity on the Ground

You'll eventually land on a rock and the Titan Lost will launch attacks at you with its gigantic arms. Keep on the lookout for the red electricity on the ground as these determine where the punches will be directed at.

After dodging them, the arms will stay in that position for a brief amount of time. You can then proceed to spam your abilities and combos to deal damage to the boss.

Blue Crystals Will Emerge From Its Hands

After slamming its hands on the ground, avoid staying in front of its fingers as it will launch blue crystals in a horizontal direction, dealing a considerable amount of damage if you get hit by it.

Jump Over Green Energy Waves

FF16 - Titan Green Energy

When it pummels the ground, jump over the green energy wave, then use Wildfire to dash to it and unleash your attacks at it. Take note that it will do this twice so make sure to anticipate the second one.
