FF16 - Medal of Valor Midnight Raven

Medals of Valor are earned when you defeat major story bosses without taking damage. Doing so also unlocks the hidden trophy, You’re Not the Boss of Me.

FF16 - The Oath

There are 22 hidden curiosities that can be displayed in Clive's Wall of Memories. Completing them all gives the For the Hoard trophy.

Chronolith Trials

FF16 - The Hand of Mimas Chronolith Trial

Chronolith Trials are time-based challenges found all over the map in secret locations. They can be visited anytime, but you won't be able to take on the trials until later in the game.

Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) - One Man

A treasure map can be found in the game that reveals the secret location of the One Man's Treasure. This item can then be sold for a whopping 100,000 gil!

Gotterdammerung

The Gotterdammerung is the best weapon in the first playthrough of the game. The exact details of crafting it are kept secret until you finish the Blacksmith's Blues IV side quest. You'll also need its reforged version in Final Fantasy Mode to craft the even more powerful Ultima Weapon.

Blacksmith

FF16 - Blacksmith

Craft and reinforce weapons and armor to further increase the damage you deal, along with your defense and HP.

You'll be able to use the blacksmith's services after completing the quest, A Chance Encounter, and once you gain access to Cid's Hideaway.

Arete Stone Features

FF16 - Arete Stone

The Arete Stone will be available at Cid's Hideaway after finishing the Hide, Hideaway quest. The Arete Stone includes features such as: training mode, arcade mode, stage replay, and the Chronolith trial replays after progressing the story further.

Training Mode

You can practice your combat skills here with customizable settings to help you improve on the battlefield! You can access this by selecting Hall of Virtue in the Arete Stone, which is already unlocked.

Arcade mode offers players a chance to get high scores by executing stylish combos and combat techniques on each stage. Complete the Fanning Embers quest to unlock this together with Stage Replay.

Stage Replay is for players who want to replay a part of the story, either for missed cutscenes, missed items, or simply for revisiting the atmosphere of the stage. Complete the Fanning Embers quest to unlock this together with Arcade Mode.

Harpocrates and the Thousand Tomes

FF16 - The Thousand Tomes

As you progress through the game, speak with Harpocrates at Cid's Hideaway to let him document your adventures. He'll record them in the Thousand Tomes, a collection of knowledge about the world of Vallishtea, all compiled in a tome.

Side Quests

FF16 - Side Quests

Side quests involve helping people out around Valishtea and in Cid's Hideaway. Some side quests net you special rewards, but most give you EXP, Gil, and ability points, so complete side quests as soon as they're available!

Orchestrion

FF16 - Orchestrion

Collect Orchestrion rolls and listen to new music in an Orchestrion. You'll unlock the Orchestrion as soon as you gain access to Cid's Hideaway, and you can change the tune playing in the background while inside the hideout.

Alliant Reports

FF16 - Alliant Report

Alliant Reports show available side quests across Valisthea. Selecting a side quest through Alliant Reports will fast travel you to the nearest Obelisk.

Unlock Alliant Reports in the Ale Hall at Cid's Hideaway after you talk to Otto during the quest, Righting Wrongs. It'll become available again in The Counter at the new hideaway after finishing the Release subquest and after talking to Gav during The Gathering Storm main quest.

The Patron's Whisper

FF16 - The Patron

Claim donated items in The Patron's Whisper as you increase your renown. Complete side quests and slay Notorious Marks in the Hunt Board to increase your renown.

Hunt Board and Notorious Marks

FF16 - Hunt Board

Hunt down and slay monsters posted in the hunt board to receive Gil and increase your renown. You'll find the hunt board in Cid's Hideaway, and use the information there to track down monsters and return triumphant!

Final Fantasy Mode

FF16 - more aggressive enemies

Final Fantasy Mode will be available once you've beaten the main game once and can be played on New Game Plus. Enemies have more health and stronger damage.

This will surely be a challenge for anyone who wants to try this mode, and efforts won't go in vain as the Ultima Weapon, the strongest weapon in the game, can be crafted in this mode only.

Unlockable Abilities






Upgrade Abilities

FF16 - All Abilities

Upgrade abilities to further enhance what they do on the battlefield. Upgrade to your heart's content since you can refund ability points at any time.

You can learn and upgrade abilities as soon as you have access to the Abilities tab in the Menu.

Torgal

Torgal will fight alongside you, and you can give him commands to aid you in battle. Don't forget to pet Torgal after helping you to let him know what a good boy he is!

Torgal will be on your side as soon as you start Fanning Embers.

FF16 - Garuda

You gain Eikon abilities once you progress through the game and receive their powers. Mix and match Eikon's abilities to suit your combat experience and enjoy battles.

Clive intially starts with the Blessing of the Phoenix, and he starts with abilities from that Eikon.

Fast Travel

FF16 - Obelisks

There are many Obelisks in Valisthea that you can fast-travel to. This will be your main way of traveling to different areas of the world. You'll be able to unlock them as you progress through the story and explore the map.

Limit Break

Using Limit Break increases Clive's attack and defense, and heals him when damaging enemies. Use this to deal huge chunks of damage to foes.

You'll unlock Limit Break as you gain the power of Ifrit at the last part of Buried Memories.

Chocobo Mount

Later in the game, you can mount a Chocobo to traverse the open fields faster. You cannot use your Chocobo in towns or inside dungeons.

You'll get Clive's Chocobo, Ambrosia, after you complete the quest, The White-Winged Wonder.

Is There a Secret Boss?

Only Notorious Marks

Svarog

S-Rank Notorious Marks are essentially the secret superbosses of the game. They are all completely optional, but they must be tracked down to be fought and can prove to be very challenging opponents. As a reward, they drop valuable materials that can be used to craft powerful gear like the Gotterdammerung.
