Slide effortlessly across the ground in any direction. Attacking with □ while sliding can temporarily freeze enemies.

Details and Use Cases

Recommended Use
- ○ can be used to dodge incoming enemy attacks.
- Can be used while sliding to execute a powerful follow-up attack called Frostbite.
- Enemies struck with Frostbite will become temporarily frozen.
- Precisely dodging an enemy attack with Cold Snap freezes all enemies within a radius. This is known as Permafrost.
- Permafrost duration is determined by the strength of the enemy attack dodged.

Techniques

Technique Command
Frostbite Inflict an enemy with Frostbite.
Permafrost Inflict an enemy with Permafrost.
Shatter Deliver a mortal blow to a frozen enemy.

How to Unlock Cold Snap

Unlock Shiva During Through the Maelstrom

Cold Snap is unlocked by gaining the power of Shiva during the quest, Through the Maelstrom. You may need to complete or encounter a certain story section in order to unlock this ability.

FF16 - Silver Trophy Inflict Permafrost on 10 enemies by perfectly dodging attacks with Cold Snap (excluding battles in Hall of Virtue).

Dodging attacks with Cold Snap can inflict Permafrost on enemies. Inflict Permafrost on 10 of them to earn the Oh, Snap! bronze trophy.
