How to Beat Akashic Morbol

Step-by-Step Guide

Steer Clear of Worse Breath

FF16 - Akashic Morbol Worse Breath

Akashic Morbol will blow out a stream of toxicated smoke known as Worse Breath in a counterclock wise rotation. Since this poisonous cloud moves slowly, you can run away from it until the Morbol stops, or you can precision dodge through it as suprisingly you won't take any damage if you evade through it.

Avoid Stepping on the Black Goo

Like the Morbol that you've faced in the prologue quests, the Akashic version can also spit out black goo which immobilizes your movements and slowly deplete your health so keep an eye out on where these will land and do your best to avoid stepping on them!

Anticipate and Evade Giant Leaps

FF16 - Akashic Morbol Giant Leap

The Wild Rush is a common ability of the Morbol species where it will charge forward continuously in different directions.

However, unlike the previous Morbol that you fought, the Akashic Morbol will leap through the air and slam the ground towards the end of wild rush so be prepared to press the Dodge Button before it lands.

Spam Your Abilities After Staggering

Clive will have access to more powerful abilities at this point of the story, such as the Judgement Bolt which you can use to deal massive damage to the Akashic Morbol while it's staggered, removing a good chunk of its HP.

Best Abilities to Learn and Master

Create Combos by Switching Between Eikons

You can maximize your damage by juggling abilities between Eikons! One great example is using Gouge plus Wicked Wheel, then switch to the Ramuh's ability set to cast out Thunderstorm and end the combo with Judgement Bolt.
