Move faster when exploring the open fields of Valisthea in Final Fantasy 16 (FF16). Read on to learn how to sprint and how to move faster.

How to Sprint

Keep Holding The L Stick Forward

Holding the L Stick forward for about 5 seconds will make Clive sprint. If you stop sprinting, you'll go back to your usual running speed until you hold the L Stick forward again.

You cannot sprint in cities and dungeons. You'll also stop sprinting upon encountering an enemy.

How to Move Faster

Ride a Chocobo

Riding a Chocobo will surely make you traverse faster in the open field. Note that you can't ride Chocobos in cities and dungeons too!

How to Obtain and Ride a Chocobo

Chocobos Can Drift Dash

Steps for Drift Dashing

Hold PS4 - R2 Button to gallop and do not let go

Tilt the PS4 - Left Stick.png stick left or right while holding down PS4 - L2 Button.png

Once you face left or right, release PS4 - L2 Button.png to drift dash!

You can try this technique to make sharper turns while riding a Chocobo.
